Easter

The kids loved Easter this year. We decided to make it our family tradition to do Easter on Saturday. Its easier and keeps the sacred meaning behind Easter special and more meaningful on Sunday.
They woke up found the bunny trail to Parleys basket and a note that told them they are old enough to find their baskets now without a trail. They took off to find thier treasures. Brookies was behind and under the table Kylers was in his room in his hamper.
They also found a note that told them to go out to the garage for the rest of their present....they found two perfect full grown bunnys. They named them Hopper (brookies) and Thumper (Kylers) Thumper really thumps his foot oftem. Hopper, runs away. :)
We spent some time coloring eggs and then had a egg hunt at Grandma Jo's house and jumped into the Can Ams and rolled eggs. The kids still today (yes this is a catch up post and its July) still talk about rolling eggs and coloring them and how its no fair it only happens once a year. :)

Brookyn fell asleep on the way back....so uncomfortable!! Kyler helped her lay on his lap but it woke her up.
This kid...Celery and a tractor. Heaven.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

At any given moment the last few weeks if you were to enter our house you would have heard Kyler singing, "here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin down the bunny trail. . . ." He loved that song. He was so excited for Easter. SO EXCITED! The candy and mystery of what it really would be like im sure had something to do with it, but after the bunny visited, they played with their awesome bubble machine for a good hour, he reminded me of something we have been telling him for months.
"The baby will come after the Easter Bunny" Ya, thats what we have been telling him, in effort to help him understand time wise when the baby was coming. We never really thought that in his little mind, that the Easter bunnys exit would merit the babys entrance! Oops. He now keeps telling me several times a day. "Mom Easter is over and the baby still has not come out." Oh i know buddy, trust me I know. Its going to be a couple more Sundays before it makes its grand entrance. He is quickly loosing his patience in the whole waiting for the baby game. More so than even i think i am. :)

Anyway back to Easter. The kids had a great weekend. We colored eggs, played with cornmeal and filled the eggs with it in the water table  We had an egg hunt at Grandma Jo's and even went to the Gunnison City Easter egg hunt and saw the Easter Bunny! Perfect holiday celebrations. Nothing too spectacular  but the kids loved every minute of it.
This girl....She loves hats latley...and she adores her blue boots. They are a little big, but who cares, she can put them on herself, and they make her happy.
Hopping like a bunny
Not pleased she was taken from home before breakfast......chowing down her granola bar
Ky hopping, again....he had a lot of energy...
They were both freaked out by the Bunny, and it didnt help that they set the bunny up facing RIGHT INTO THE BRIGHT SUN! Duh, that wasnt wise at all.
They love Grandmas Trampoline...and loved jumping with their cousin Maddy

Easter morning Ky came in bright and early. I was so tired and convinced him to crawl into bed with me for another 20 minutes  Then convinced him to play on my phone for another 15 before we went and woke up sister cause he couldn't wait any longer to find his basket. Kyler loved searching for his (hidden in the tub) and Brookie got a Bunny trail leading to hers. They got books and candy in their baskets and on the table the bunny left an awesome cool bubble machine! We have had another one in the past, but it died after so much use. This one, Mr. Easter Bunny spoiled his favorites and bought the more expensive one. Mrs. Easter Bunny isnt always that nice, but Mr. Bunny, he has his moments and wanted the coolest for them this time. :) THEY LOVED IT. We played outside for at least an hour Sunday morning, in our PJ's chasing bubbles in our yard. Thank heavens for 1:00 church that allowed for that kind of play on a Sunday morning. (and that will be the only time, EVER, that i will be thankful for 1:00 church.)
I attempted Easter pictures of the kids in their new outfits. Miserable. I snapped over 300, thanks to continuous shot in hopes i could capture that perfect moment. Oh. My. Goodness. They were so uncooperative. To say they were distracted would be an understatement  They were ornery and uncooperative. So out of 300 pictures these are the only ones that turned out. Pathetic, but they are cute, so i count myself 80% successful, 20% taken from the total for the torture i had to endure to take them.
Might I add for posterity sake the only reason they are so happy in the field is cause A) Kyler finally got to go to the bathroom, we couldn't do it by the building we were at first. B) Mostly B, because Ky passed gas and Brooklyn busted out laughing and that ham of Ky took it to the next level and made fake tooting sounds for the next 5 minutes. Awesome.
