My 3 Month Old!

So my little boy is the big 3 months today! I cannot believe how fast time flys, and how fast these little guys can grow! Just 3 months ago he was tiny and now he is a chubby monkey!
Here are a few things he is up to these days. . . .
~he loves to talk (especially to his daddy!)
~ He is starting to grasp things in his hands
~He loves his baby keys, he will hit them and talk to them
~He is still the worlds best baby traveler...he sleeps the whole time! :)
~He doesn't love loud derby cars...but next year when he isn't so little, i bet he will change his mind!
~He is starting to branch out from his uncanny obsession with the black curtains
~ He is starting to pay attention to story time
~ He loves to play in the mirror with mom
~He is sleeping in his crib now
~He can kick his toy hard enough to make the music play...this was a happy day when he started last week! Now he cant stop.
~He is starting to slober...and blow bubbles
~He is always super smiley in the mornings
( i have to add that i had to take him to the dr today because he has been fussy, he has his first ear infection, poor baby guy!! And he now is a whopping 15 lb 1 oz!! I have been guessing that he was that much, but now i have proof! No wonder why i pass the car seat to Brandon to carry anytime i can...he is a heavy monkey!)
He is just a perfect little baby and i love him more than anything!! Happy 3 months Ky!!

Making Meals go Further!

So last week with lucky meal planning we got 3 meals out of one recipe! Not to brag, but honestly I am so proud of myself, and this is why. Brandon hates left overs, and if i don't get to them fast enough they spoil and i feel so guilty watching that money go down the drain...literally! But, this last week i got 3 meals out of one recipe and so i am going to share it. It will only work for those who are cooking for 2....sorry....unless you buy a bigger piece of meat.
I forgot to mention the best part...on the 3rd day Brandon said dinner was so good...that means a lot coming from a man who hates leftovers.
Now, honestly...this isn't your typical leftovers...like a casserole you have to eat for 3 days...its 3 totally different meals...that might be why it worked in my household so well!

So here is what i did. I bought a London Broil the other day at the market (it was on sale, and is usually quite cheap because it is a cheaper meat, but it still works for those too poor to buy real steak) It goes on sale often, and is around $1.30 lb i think. I buy 2 lbs when i make it.
Next I made this marinade click here for recipe oh just to add we love the Grill Mates Steak seasoning, so it was a main part of that recipe. I add about a tsp to the marinade, and then when grilling the meat Brandon sprinkled more on.
This time, i let it marinade for 24 hours...we had to go to Provo last minute so we cooked it the next day. I have made it before and whipped up the marinade in the morning and grilled it that night and it was good as well. Do which ever you have time to do, or remember to do. :)
1st night we had:
Steak (size of your palm), large baked potato and veggie (was really good, didnt even use steak sause)
2nd night:
Steak Fajitas
I sliced the steak into thin strips about a handful and a half and fried it for 1 minute with olive oil and then added the fajita seasoning to it. I also sauteed the green peppers, onions till they were soft then added the tomato for a minute then added the steak and seasoning mixture.
Served with sour cream and avocados....so yummy!!!
3rd night:
Cubed the remaining meat and made Stroganoff. All i did was again warmed it with a little olive oil, then put a can of cream of mushroom soup and a half can of milk, a tsp of fresh garlic and other seasonings till warm, then added the sour cream right before serving it.
This was yummy as well...good to have it with cubed steak and not just ground beef.
So there it is, try it sometime. I promise feelings of resourcefulness and budgetness!

My Big Boy

So seems how this is more like a journal for me, i have to post about things so i don't forget when they happened.
Last night was Kyler's first night in his crib. It was a super hard decision to make, but seems how me and Brand like to sleep cool... now that we have windows that open our room gets quite cool, and Kyler's hands are freezing in the morning we had to do something. . . . Didn't matter if he was in warm jammies and a warm quilt he was still cold.
So we moved him into his own room. He is such a good baby! He slept through the whole night. Mom had a harder time with it than he did! After shedding 3 or 4 tears looking at the bassinet by the bed--empty... and checking on him 4 or 5 times before falling asleep, i too gave in to Mr. Sandman.
Love my critter tons and tons, and it continues to grow every day!

The Women in Our Lives

I just watched this clip from the lds.org website and thought i would share it with you all.
How often do we forget how special we are as women. It so easy to get wrapped up in the things that the world has say about us, but we really are special, we all have a purpose, and like the lesson this week in Relief Society says,
“If you live up to your privileges, the angels cannot be restrained from being your associates.”
Be proud you are a woman, and always strive to live up to your mission as a mother, teacher, friend and wife. The world would tell us otherwise, but its such a blessing to be a woman. Because of this church and Its teachings we can know that we are special and that we have a special purpose on this earth in our homes, church & community. We were born to this time for a reason, lets not forget that.

Kylers Special Day

We blessed Kyler Sunday, and it was a beautiful day. He was such a good baby too...not crying, and not even a peep during the blessing! Brandon was hoping he would sleep, so there would be no tears or squawks, so we fed him right before and sure enough he was out, but as he walked up Ky decided he wanted to hear what was going to be said cause he was bright eyed when we came back. :)
Kyler is such a special blessing in our lives. It took us a little while to get him, but now that we have him we love him more than we could have ever imagined. He is such a happy little guy. His simles are going from ear to ear these days. Hope you enjoy the pictures from his special day.
