Thanksgiving

Sometimes life throws you for a crazy loop and somehow we can still come out on top with the help of others and sweet sweet angels both in heaven and on earth that grace us with their presence.

Original plans were: I would got to visit Chase and Missy and thier darling kids over my birthday (in Wisconson) and then come back Monday, then Thanksgiving with Childs family on Thursday in South Jordan. The first part did happen. And it was fabulous. Really. Just what i needed. I was so so stressed and worried to leave Brooklyn with sitters all day and then Brandon picking her up. She is a mommies girl and kinda hard to handle at times with her head strong personality. But, i went. She lived and was happy to see me. And i had a relaxing time getting to know Enoch, Tessa, and baby Kate better and catching up with Chase and Missy. I enjoy them. Both of them very much. I love spending time just being with Missy talking and hanging out. I loved sitting up late having deep converstaions with my big brother. Things i needed then. Parley was a chamption flyer and baby the whole trip, minus one night that he refused to sleep and mommy was running low on sleep due to late nights talking with Missy and Chase. Oops. I forgot my camera, so i was left to just my phone. Missy made me one of the best cakes (no exaggeration) i have ever had. Oh. My. Goodness. It was not only beauitufl and i was in awe how easily it came to her to decorate it, but the flavors, oh, i want more. Right. Now!

I love this one...Such a great big brother!
We played twister...it was awesome!
I held babies, it was awesome!! :)
They treated me to dinner one night, it was delicious
Lucky kids have a wash thing right behind their house, it was frozen, they had a blast. I loved watching it....for a moment. It was FREEZING cold outside!
The darling girls!
Drool. My cake. Still dreaming over it!
Back to the rest of the story. I got home late late Monday night. Tuesday I started working again, had loads and loads of laundry to do. And then i got the phone call from my mom that ripped my heart in two. I locked myself in my bedroom for a minute to get myself under control. Then called parents asked if they could come get their kids. Rushed to finish laundry, packed us back up and Wed morning we headed up to Riverton to plan my big brothers funeral. Something, I could have never expected. I foolishly thought after Quinn passed away that Heavenly Father wont take the rest of us away from my mom. She has lost my dad, her youngest son....thats too much. So she is save and so are the rest of us. Wrong. We had more to learn, and Jake needed to return home. Oh how i miss him. I am writing this 3 months after his passing and it just hurts in my heart still. But, I also have no doubt that he is where he needs and wants to be. He is happy. He is still with us. Freed from his earthly trials, he is truley happy and free.
While we would have rathered it under happier circumstances, my mom flew in from their mission and we saw her for the first time since Parleys birth and saw Gaylen for the first time since they had left almost 17 months earlier. So happy to see her and Gaylen. We decided to just have a family throw together Thanksgiving, and it couldn't have turned out better. Just us. Wonderful giving friend whom gave us their beautiful turkey, i honestly have never seen a more beautiful turkey in real life. Just in Martha Stewart magazines. The kids played, they were happy to be together, and we as the Petersen family could spend time together.

Bare feet, farm, tractor, in November. My kind of boy!

whats in there???? Oh its just these two cuties!!

Jakes Funeral was on Saturday and it was beautiful. It was the most peaceful day I have ever experinced in my life. Pure, complete peace. The music was breath taking. Jake couldnt have asked for anything better. We were not able to burry him Saturday due to the holiday, so Tueday we had the grave side.

The Petersen Family. Once a family of 7, now just 4 of us left on earth, but we will be together again.
