Welcome Blake Roy

Well I'm finally sitting down to introduce my precious Blakey to the blog.
He was born Sept. 3 at 1:22PM and has been a perfect blessing since.

His birthday:
We were scheduled for an induction for Wednesday Sept 3rd. We decided to come up to SLC and stay the night so we could be right close when they called to tell us to come in. For the other 3 we have gone in 7AM or before so I assumed it would be the same this time. We slept at Luke and Hils and they called and told me to expect a call anywhere between 7-9AM to tell me when to come. WHAT! So late. But I hoped it would be sooner. Nope. We woke up at 7, showered got ready and headed out for some breakfast while we waited. We got some bagels, cream cheese, and did a little shopping while we waited. Finally they called and told us to come in at 9:30-9:45AM. Blah. We got there at 9:30 But didn't get into a room till 10. They admitted me got the Pitocin running through me. Dr Terry came in at 11:15 broke my water and then asked what time id like to have the baby :) I replied 1:00PM. He laughed and told my i was being a little unrealistic, i told him he asked i told him, i wanted 1:00. Well long (not really) story short. . . they got me my epidural just before noon. And from then on it was a whirlwind. At one point the nurse came in and had me roll onto my side, in a panic. I asked why, (i felt fine) and Blake was in major distress. I panicked. and then she had me roll to the other side. He calmed down. She said i had dilated from a 4 to a 9 in 30 minutes. So she called the dr. He came down, got all set up and i delivered my "linebacker" in Dr Terrys words. He weighed 8LB 10OZ 20 inches long. He was just perfect.

These two pictures mean the world to me. Why. That man in the scrubs. There are few. FEW. Drs like him. He does what he does becaue He loves it. He is so good at it. Makes me feel 100% calm and safe in my pregnancys. He is so wonderful. So many people ask why in the world id drive 2 hours North to deliver when i pass great drs and hospitals all along the way. Dr Terry is why. Really unless he has been your dr you dont know why someone would do such a thing. I feel so blessed to have him as a friend. He delivered me. He is my moms dr too. He knows me, my family, and loves us all. How many drs would take the time to sit and chat to 3 of his 4 babies(Ky was still in school) he has delivered on a busy day. Not many i dare say. So happy to have him be a part of such special sacred days. He is what a real dr is. Caring, humble, loving, confident, and knowledgeable. In order of what is really important to me.
We hate hospital stays. He had no issues like blood sugar issues like the others did. So we packed up and were outta there and home the next day. Phew. Grandma Nancy had the kids for the weekend so we came home and just rested. Then Brock (Blakes cousin) was born the next day. So we took a quick trip to meet him Friday. We drove to Grover to get Ky for school Sunday. And Brookie and Parley stayed with Grandma Nancy till Tuesday.
I loved the quiet and cuddles.

Brookie Meeting Blake for the first time. She got to meet him in the labor and delivery room.
Ky meeting him up in the room.

We did introduce Parley to him, but this is the best picture of that event. It was quick....Blake was Brand new and Parley was like a bull in a china closet in that room. :)

Blakes first bath, Finally late that night, around 9:30PM by daddy. After having 3 kids, he is a champion newborn bather.
Ya know that song "Daddys Hands" Thats why i think about here. Precious.
Hilarie and the kids stopped to meet Blake on their way to the Ogden Temple Open House.
I love his thoughtful eyes while staring up at his daddy.
Ready to go home!
At his 2 week check he was back to 8LB 9OZ. And now (he is 6 weeks while I'm writing this) is as chubby as can be. We weighed him yesterday on his blessing day and is up to 13LBs at 6 weeks!!
He is such a good baby. Content to just hang out in his sister lap, he loves to snuggle up into my neck. He prefers to sleep with me at night, but i don't love that. So we compromise. One feeding a night i usually do in bed and let him snuggle and sleep with me for about 2 hours. The rest of the night he is in his bed. I'm spoiling him! :)
Here is photo overload of this babys first month here:

First real bath at home

Blake born Sept 3 his cousin Brock born Sept 5
I was so worried about Parley not being good with another baby in the house. Oh no, he adores him and constantly is giving hugs and loves to him. Its like they were buddys in heaven and he was just waiting for his arrival.
Blakes first walk...oh my goodness i have FOUR kids!

relaxing at Petersen Family Farms corn pit

Brock and Blake
I had lost a part to the tub that holds the newborn up out of the water. I finally found it, making his bathtime so relaxing. He fell right to sleep. Precious baby.

This sister adores her "bruder" and holds him as much as she can.
One week old
One of my all time favorite pictures. She was out cold holding her one week old baby
One Month old pics . . . .(the next 4)
Aunt Missy MADE that adorable bear. I am in love with it!

His blessing was yesterday Oct 19. It was a beautiful day from the weather, blessing, and family being gathered together. Uncle Chase and Aunt Missy just happened to be in town for an interview in Logan the next day. So they surprised me that morning. It was such a wonderful surprise. I had just been sad that morning that we couldn't all be together, and miracle of miracles Dad, Jake, and Quinn set it up so we could all share Blake's special arrival and blessing.

Photo Bomb...look at Blakes face..he gets a little scared when parley comes charging his way

Overall this baby is perfect. He is so happy. Sleeps so well. There have been a couple nights he will sleep 6 hours, eat for 15 minutes and then back out for 4 hours. He is chubby and i adore him. He has his first cold and I'm praying he doesn't get an ear infection with it. :( Guess he is bound to be sick with 3 older siblings coughing and having snotty noses. He has given 2 smiles in his life and both were very hard to get. He loves his Binky, which is new and welcome in my world. Ive never had a baby take a Binky and he takes it really well for us. YEA!

Blakey we love you so much. We look forward to seeing the boy you will become and then the man. I feel like you are destined for great things and needed to come to this world right here and now to accomplish your mission in life. Your a great wise spirit I'm sure of it. I'm blessed to be your mom. Love you Mr. B.
