Our Trip
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So i think that it is about time i post a few more pictures and tell a little about our trip. First of all we had a blast. We went to London for the first two days, then to Paris for 2 days, and then we got to stay with Luke and Hilarie and the Kids for 4 days. We cannot believe that we were really there. We look at pictures and it seems like it was a dream.
The weather could have cooperated a little better, it was super cold and windy, and a little rainy, but we were still able to have a good time. The funnest we had in the not so great weather was on the Eiffel tower. It was so windy that they had to shut down the top platform you can stand on. We went to the second one, and had a good laugh cause it felt like the wind was going to blow us over. We had to old onto the video camera tight so it would not blow right of our hands!! : ) We took a picture of Brandon, and he is leaning way forward into the wind; it is holding him up. It was crazy and funny to see it that windy from that high. I still cannot believe how humongous the Eiffel Tower is!!! You see it in pictures and all, but oh my it is so tall in real life! As you saw in the last posting and the picture provided, Paris is the city of love (our kiss proves it) While I am on Paris i will tell you about some other things we did there. The afternoon we got there we visited the Eiffel Tower, and then went on a river cruise that night to see all the lights, Ya know they call Paris the City of Lights. So that was fun, all except that i sat in a soaked seat.....i was a little embarrassed to finally have to stand up with a very drenched bum. : )
The next day we got to see the rest of Paris. We jumped on a tour bus and you can jump on and off at the different sights. In between the stops you get to be plugged into a audio tour explaining all about what is around you. I loved Notre Dame and the Arc. I hate how there is NO bathrooms anywhere, and the few that they have HAVE HOURS OF OPERATION! Can you believe that! i thought i was seriously going to die. they are only open like 4 hours a day, and then you have to pay. I love USA for free 24 hour bathrooms! : ) I wish we would have had more time there, we were so rushed and didn't get to spend a lot of time the places we visited, plus the Louver was closed the one day that we had to visit it.....Sorry Mona Lisa, we wont get to see you in real life. :(
We, while in Paris also went out to a nicer dinner and got to see the Arc all lit up. It was a fun trip.
We Loved London though. The weather was a little nicer in London, and i didn't have as bad of a cold in London as I did in Paris, but really London was just so amazing. We got to go for a ride on the London Eye, which is the biggest Farris Wheel, or at least that is how i would explain it. It takes you up so high and you can see the whole city. We had a stressful moment though....first I forgot to make reservations, which was my bad, but that worked out, but then i forgot the vouchers we had already bought to get on, so we had to run around trying to to find Internet so we could print more. I was super stressed, but in the end, the view was awesome and i could breathe again. :) Big Ben, the clock tower, is so pretty, especially at night. The first night in London we just walked around the city. It was so beautiful and fun to see all the lights and amazing buildings. We just don't have buildings like they do in the 'older' countries.
This post is getting really long, but i will just say that the time we spent with Luke and Hil was so much fun! We got to play with little Craigy and darling Maddy for a few days and got to go to Bath and see, as Maddy would say, "the biggest ever bathtub!" aka the Roman baths. We also go to go on a church history tour a member of Luke's ward took us on. We got to see where Pres. Woodruff baptised over 300 people. It was beautiful country out in the towns. The fields were so green and i loved the hedges they have instead of fences. It seriously was breath taking views everywhere we went.
Well i think this is long enough for now. I am using this as a type of Journal, so there might be more entries and more pictures.
The world travelers!
So here we sit in our hotel room in Paris, France!!!! We thought we would take advantage of the free internet opportunity here in our quaint hotel room---quaint being the key word. : ) Our trip started in London, and we got to see so much in such a short time that we were there. Then, today we have moved onto Paris. The weather isn't all that great, but we are still loving our time here, looking and seeing so many cool things.
Here are some pictures we have taken thus far......
