Halloween, Halloween, Lots of Fun on Halloween

The kids absolutely loved Halloween this year. Kyler was stoked for the last 3 days thinking about it. He was so excited to be Deigo again. Brookie, well she would have been just as excited for at least as long if she knew what was coming!

Today was no let down for my littlest man. We got up, had us some doughnuts for Breakfast (this is a HUGE treat) then we got Ky dressed in his costume. Him and 2 of his little friends ran through the house playing and carrying on. Then we had a Halloween Lunch that consisted of Mummy hotdogs, Ghost Bananas, and red ants on a log.

Then off to preschool. Ky was sooooo excited. He saw my camera in the car and demanded i take a picture of him at Mrs. Jenns house. So we got out and took one by her pumpkins.

Ky came home from his Halloween party so hyper. From what i could get out of him and understand i think they made witches brew, ate doughnuts on a string and played on horses. :)
For snack we had pumpkin shaped toast and searched for our bat rings in applesauce  They thought that was awesome. No picture of that one.
Then mommy made mummy pizza...this was fun and i really enjoyed it. The kids watched Halloween cartoons while i did it. I'm bummed i didn't take a picture, but it looked something like this. It was an easy dinner to make half dairy free half dairy. I think i might be making it again...i like my pizza and haven't had it in a while and this hit the spot. I'm drooling just thinking about my leftovers in the fridge. Thank you people who invented dairy free Mozzarella cheese, you have a golden path to heaven in my opinion.

Then off to the trunk or treat. Our little city needs to do some serious planning on this. Its so poorly planned. But, the kids loved it. They got lots of candy. They got to eat a doughnut (yes thats a grand total of THREE 3!! for Kyler in one day. Barf) Brookie took her candy gathering serious. If someone put the candy in her bag it was as if it never happened. She needed it in her hand and then the bag for it to count. She got a good more of a chunk of candy than her older brother because she wouldn't leave a trunk until that candy hit her hand, meaning when they would just put in her bag, she got two. And then people would think that was so cute, so they would give her another. And i have to add a sad note. After the doughnut Ky wanted to play on the playground(the trunk r treat was at the city park) so we stood there with Brookie and talked to some neighbors and friends and then all of a sudden a friend said hey Marc Ky just took off down the sidewalk full on running and he sent his daughter to go snag him.....i headed over thinking he took off with some friends and needed to heard them back to the playground...No the poor scared to death boy was sobbing uncontrollably.  He thought we had left him. Daddy was holding him trying to calm him down unsuccessfully and the nicest young boy(maybe 10 or 11) came up to him and offered him a handful of candy. That turned the tears off instantly. Thank you sweet tender stranger boy. You saved his night.
Then off to Grandma Jo's and Papas and a few houses and home again home again. Kyler said he was tired and needed to go home and eat his candy. :)

Costumes, Power Tools and Pumpkins

Friday night was the local Halloween Carnival. I thought we would give it a try. It was a good cotume test run. Brooklyns antennae were too heavy and she ripped them off as soon as we were in the car. Kyler looked great and loved his costume. Here they are just before we left.

So last year i saw a couple pictures of pumpkins people drilled wholes in to decorate...I loved them. This year pintrest is flooded with them. Here is one...

I wanted to try it. We all picked our perfect pumpkins the other day when we were up North at Lukes farm. Finally today, we carved them. I wanted to let Ky go hog wild with the drill and just let him drill wholes in it all over...but he wanted "pumpkin MAD" So I thought we would just drill wholes around a drawing. I grabbed the camera and dad helped and he thought i wanted to drill out the whole design....it worked awesome and Kyler LOVED LOVED absolutely loved doing it. Daddy helped carve a little face pumpkin for Brookie and then mom and dad did theirs. I really wanted to do a design on mine...not a face, but Kyler wanted me to do "pumpkin sleepy" So i did, and i have to admit i like her. Daddy ended up unintentionally carving a "pumpkin happy" So by default brookies is "pumpkin sad" But it doesn't look sad. Should have thought that whole poem reenactment first. :)

No One Here Crying Over Spilled Milk

This morning i gave Brooklyn some dinosaurs/frogs and cups to play with while i cleaned up the rest of the kitchen. A daycare parent came so I left the kitchen for a bit while I talked to her. This is what i came back to. She would dump her milk out onto her dinosaurs/frogs and bath them in the milk. I took the milk away and replaced it with water and let her continue. She was in heaven.

I posted this for you mom...this shows her jabbering and using the few words she knows too. Enjoy. Its 3 minutes long...sorry, but the at the very end she signs please and thats cute too so i didn't cut any of it out.

17 Months

Oddly enough I was wrong the other day. That never happens. :) Me and Brandon had been arguing(take that very lightly) about how old Brooklyn is. I was determined she was 16 months old--Brandon argued that she is 17 months old and we only have one more month till this darling little monster gets to go to nursery. :)

After about 20 minutes I came to terms that my beautiful babe is in fact 17 months old. Harsh reality people. Harsh. 

This 17 month old in a nutshell. . . . .

* Is a hoot...she cracks us up all day

*Is a little sister and all that annoying-ness that comes with it (just ask Ky, he gets so frustrated with her)

*Is a tease! 

*Loves her older girl friends. She now says Jaelie and Gratia....but struggles to say Kyler. Sad. When Jaelie walks in the door after school Brooklyn literally runs to her with open arms and hugs her to death before she can even take off her backpack. 

*Has a hard time with baby's  Madison is a baby i tend that is 2 months younger than Brookie. They dont get along. Brooklyn is a bully. Im afraid for this baby to come. It better come tough!! :)

*Loves trucks and animals. 

*Does love to carry things around. Baskets, cups with stuff in it, or mostly chairs. She moves chairs all over the house. She mostly sticks to child size chairs, but it is not limited to them.

*IS A CLIMBER (she scares me to death)

*Has no fear. NONE. She will jump off anything and has pure childlike faith that someone, even if they are across the room will catch her. She falls a lot. She never learns. She loves it. 

*She is talking slightly more, but mostly just jabbers all day. She says hat, eyes, nose, done, stuck, dog, car, uh-oh, gama (grandma), papa, ball, and attempts Kyler "Tywa" is how it comes out. I know there is more, just cant remember them all. She will sign please, all done, and more. 

*Loves outdoors. 

*Loves to help get eggs from the chickens

*Waves bye bye when you lay her in bed. It is awesome. 

*For prayers she always lays her head down, on the chair we say night prayers by, or on the table for food prayers. Its so cute. 

*loves to point to your eyes, nose, mouth. Watch out, she might poke your eye out!

*Loves to dance. She spins over and over in circles

*Loves to color. She finds the crayons and colors on whatever is closest....im afraid for my walls in the near future

*Cannot sit in the tub. It drives us nuts. We set her in and she immediately trys to climb out. She loves water, loves to swim, but not the tub. 

*Has the most darling cheesey smile. It makes me smile even when she does it just after doing something she knows she shouldn't.

*loves bananas, eggs, muffins, and as of the last 2 days Captain Crunch (she has always hated cereal. As an infant she would never eat cheerios and such, but I gave Ky some Captain Crunch and wow. She likes that!  *She is boycotting food. She must not be growing much cause she is just not eating much the last couple days. 

*She is in a weird moment. She is too tall for 18 month clothes, but not big enough for 24 months. Tall and skinny. Dont judge her on her rolled up pants or floody pants. There is no happy medium right now.
*She has some kind of love hate relationship with shoes. She loves to try and put them on. She will grab them and bring them to you to put them on before she goes outside...BUT once we are outside they are off her feet. When we are in the car they dont last 30 seconds. Its a pain. Most times i dont bother with them. Although story time...i ran into Family Dollar the other day and I HAD put shoes and socks on her, it was chilly and i didnt want her to have cold feet. BUT, on the way she took them off. A overly kind grandma tapped me on the shoulder and told me i need to take better care of my daughter, that she needs shoes and socks on, its cold outside. Oh come on, i do, i really do!! Blah. People these days.

This baby girl is a blast. She is so fun to have around the house. Her smile lights up the room. Her whole face  lights up when she is happy. I love her with my entire being.

I Pledge Allegiance

This is just for you mom....


Today while i was taking Kyler to preschool he proceeded to tell me that he really really really hopes he gets to be the flag helper today. I asked him if he says the pledge of allegiance, he replied with the pledge perfectly. I cried. Blame the pregnancy hormones, but ya, i cried. I was so proud.
So after school I tried to record him saying it. Its not as perfect as in the car, but he just got home from school and is wired. :) I'm proud of my crazy boy.

Speaks to your heart

My best friend posted this to Facebook and it hit me hard. For each person its going to mean something different.  Right now my life feels like its spinning out of control. We have so much going on I honestly am barely sliding by. On top of everything we are doing  I keep think of my dad and Quinn. I kinda miss those handsome men.  And oh, how I would love to steal away just a minute to see them, hug them, see them smile,  and feel that perfect heavenly peace.  One minute would recharge me for a lifetime. This song hit it perfectly. I cried. I still am. I don't even like pink, but this song, this one, is perfect for me right now and is just what i needed to let a little of the stress out through tears.

My perfect unpredictably predictable life

No, we don't plan for it all to happen in May. I guess in a way we plan the every other year thing, but when we decide that leaves 12 months of possibles we would never limit ourselves, which leads me to the only possible explination......... 
Someone in heaven has a funny sense of humor. I give full credit to my dad. He is the only one that has been there long enough to be a part of sending all 4 of them into my life, making it the most complete perfect life I could imagine. Thanks Dad. I miss ya, and love ya.  I love my family. I love that we are one forever. FOREVER.
We are so excited to welcome Baby Childs #3!

PS I have no words to express my thanks Dad for creating my perfect life, but could you send a money tree too cause you have made that month a doosey! :)
