It was finally warming up and we have a fire pit....so we put it to use for family night one night. So fun to have a pit right in the backyard!

Easter
The kids loved Easter this year. We decided to make it our family tradition to do Easter on Saturday. Its easier and keeps the sacred meaning behind Easter special and more meaningful on Sunday.
They woke up found the bunny trail to Parleys basket and a note that told them they are old enough to find their baskets now without a trail. They took off to find thier treasures. Brookies was behind and under the table Kylers was in his room in his hamper.
They also found a note that told them to go out to the garage for the rest of their present....they found two perfect full grown bunnys. They named them Hopper (brookies) and Thumper (Kylers) Thumper really thumps his foot oftem. Hopper, runs away. :)
We spent some time coloring eggs and then had a egg hunt at Grandma Jo's house and jumped into the Can Ams and rolled eggs. The kids still today (yes this is a catch up post and its July) still talk about rolling eggs and coloring them and how its no fair it only happens once a year. :)

A Family That Works Together
Stays together.
Tonight we started digging holes for the trees i wish had been planted 15 years ago when the house was built. Instead of the home builders doing such a good thing, they left that up to us. :)
Last year we just never got around to it and I regret it so much, so this Spring was not going by without trees entering our soil.
We got 4 trees. 2 HUGE ones, to help get us some shade. And 2 small more decorative trees for the front. I like beautiful things.
We had dinner and then were headed out. Talkitve Ky couldn't stop talking so when dad went out, I heard his heart break. It was horrible. The poor boy could hardly compose himself long enough to hear me asking him to please eat at least half of his dinner. He finally heard, started arguing and I had to be mean mom and say he cannot help till his dinner is half gone. I wasn't asking for anything unrealistic (he had just been begging for food cause he was STARVING), although the heartbreaking cry that followed that request and ultimatum did sound a lot like i was pulling his teeth out without proper numbing first.
Brookie and Daddy headed out. Ky sobbing tried to eat. Muffled cry's of "mommy please feed me so i can eat faster. Mommy i cant eat this dinner, its too hard. Mommy Daddy needs me!" filled the house. I changed Parley into Jammies and came back out. Ky ate 6 more lamb bites (cause didn't you know baby lambs eat big monster bites....) And headed out.
Oh heaven. Watching my little family work together makes my heart sing. It really is a beautiful sight. And sunset behind just amplify's it.
Parley is a dirt eater. Bad. So bad. Unhealthy bad. Makes mom want to gag daily bad.
This is the face of a baby that was told "No" when he tried to eat a dirt clod bigger than his fist.
This will be on his wedding video.....
