Brandon is such an amazing man. I am so so lucky to have him, and Kyler is lucky to have such a loving father. Here is a picture or two of my two favorite boys on Fathers Day.

Childs Genes vs Petersen Genes

So since Kyler has been born these are the types of comments i have received regarding who he looks like:
~ "WOW, he is defiantly his fathers son"
~"What a good looking baby, he looks just like his daddy."
~" He is defiantly a Childs!"
But my favorite comment that believe it or not i have gotten at least 3 times is....
~ "Gee if i wouldn't have known you were pregnant, I would never guess he is your baby!"
So with all these comments, i do agree he looks like his daddy through and through, but i want to know if i really look nothing like my offspring! :)
So vote, and be honest.....i can take it if he looks nothing like me....the first time was a shock, the second time i just smiled, and by the third time being told it i have accepted it as fact...so really just be honest, it wont hurt my feelings!!!

YEA!!!!!!
Just a short hooray for this day......Kyler slept for 5 hours!!!!! Oh this makes for a very happy momma!! After having to feed him every 2 hours since he was born, and the the last 5 days trying to break the habit of eating that frequently, he now slept for 5 whole hours! Mom feels like a new woman with all that sleep!! Hip Hip Horray!! Hopefully its not a fluke!

My Growing Little Guy
I am thinking that i should finally post more about how Ky is, and what a better day to do it than the day that was supposed to be his birthday!! Now instead he will be 4 weeks old Wednesday...oh how time flys!! Here is a little about my growing guy
~ When he was 9 days old we had him weighed and he was 6lb 6 oz (was 7lb 2 oz at birth) he came in at the 6th %tile. His head was in the 12th %tile, and height was in the 9th.
~ Last week at 19 days old he had jumped to 8lb 1oz!!!! He jumped to the 20th %tile. What an eater! (it did help i am sure that i had to feed him every 2 hours)
~ He is still yellow from his jaundice...i guess we get to have a yellow guy for about another month.
~ He is getting super strong. He can lift his legs off the ground and swing them when on his belly. He has even managed to roll himself over onto his back--i think it was pure luck, but hey he has to have strength to do it!
~ He loves laying on his side and belly
~ He HATED baths until maybe 5 days ago. He screamed the minute he hit the water. Now he loves them. He needed a reminder today...he had a laps of memory and thought he still hated them, but after some reminding he quieted down and enjoyed the rest.
~He likes an occasional shower too!
~ He SLEEPS ALL DAY! That is how it seems. We get his eyes for a few minutes a couple times a day but that is it.
~He can be found sleeping with his mouth wide open waiting for a fly (as dad puts it).
~He doesn't like his diaper changed.
~He hated his car seat, until mom and dad realized he was probably claustrophobic in there with both of the head things in it....once we removed one of them, he was a content little guy to get in there (well most of the time)
~He is an excellent traveler....he in the short time he has been alive has...gone from the hospital home (2 hours), back up to the hospital in Murray the next week for mom (2 hours again), to Provo (1.5 hours), 2 trips to Ephraim (30 minutes) and a trip out to Grandma Rees' (2 hours). He sleeps the whole time, and if he happens to wake, if i put my hand on his cheek he will hold on for dear life and calm down.
~He loves to suck! He and his binki are getting to be close pals! And when the binki is MIA he will latch onto whatever he can find...the top of his hand and his wrist are his favorite. He has even been known to give himself monkey bites!! Bad ones, they were purple...promise i am not abusing my son!
~He LOVES to stretch! He Stretches probably close to a thousand times a day :) Seriously, he loves it and does it more than i could ever keep track of.
~He scrunches his forehead up and gives scouls lots....cute scouls though :)
~He loves to be swaddled and cuddled up. (When he wont go back to sleep, he just has to lay with mom or dad in bed for a little while and he is out cold....he loves to be close to you, and cuddle up with ya. (YEA!!)
~He loves to get his hair combed. Funny but when he is crying, which is not all that often, but when he is after a diaper change, if you comb his hair he will calm right down.
~Now he is starting to like to look right at your face (in the brief moments he is actually awake)
~He will stare at his toys on his play mat. Today he cound the mirror quite facinating. (So cute to watch, might i mention)
Well i think i could go on forever about him, but i think this is about all for the moment. More to come as always!

Pictures
Well here are some more pictures. I am a little slow getting them up...its been crazy around here. We had to stay longer at the hospital because the little man lost too much weight and had jaundice. So we left on Saturday and made the trek home. Kyler was a good little traveler!! He only squeaked once or twice, and who can complain about a couple squeaks!! He is going to have to get used to lots of traveling so how appropriate that we did it at the very beginning!! :)
We are home now, and having to keep him on lights 24/7. His levels keep going up, which is frustrating to us, but hopefully they will start coming down. It takes longer for preemie baby's to get over Jaundice, even though he was a big preemie, he is still considered a preemie and is obviously showing us that.
As for him generally...he is so pleasant! He loves to just stare up at you when he is finally off the lights....usually during feedings. He loves to be swaddled up real tight...which if you can imagine casues problems when you have to lay him naked on the lights. He hates getting his diaper changed and hated his bath today, but really can you blame the kid!
As for me and Brand...we are tired...but that's normal. Other than that we are loving our little boy, and are patiently (or the lack thereof) waiting for his jaundice levels to drop so we can cuddle our guy.
Enjoy the slide show.

Presenting Kyler Brandon Childs....
I would like to introduce the newest member of our little family....Kyler Brandon Childs. He was born yesterday, May 20, 2009 at 3:02 PM. He topped the scales at 7lb 2oz and measured in at 20 inches long. Pretty amazing for my little dude who was born a month early (hate to know what he would have weighed if he would have gone full term!!)
We had to get induced because of my high blood pressure....it sky rocketed over the weekend, and the doc didn't want me to go any longer for the safety of me and the bebe. So we set the time to come into the hospital May 20th at 5 AM. We come in got all the drugs to start labor, and 10 hours later the little guy came out ready for life. He had a little bit of a hard time breathing at first, but after i told him they would take him from me if he didnt stop grunting for air, he so politly obeyed! :) He has not had any problems since. He is perfect.
He has lots of dark hair and pretty skin. He is well natured and well just beautiful. We are loving him to death! More pictures and update to come.....but here are a few to wet your whistle!!
