Scooting, Eating, Painting, Bathing and Pom Poms

Kids are fun. I love my kids so much. Here is some of what has keeping us busy around our house this past week.

Our Brookie is scooting around....getting caught under the couch quite often. I'm cruel, i go find the camera before helping her out. :)

She is also pulling her self up to things...Sunday night she found she likes the flavor of the coffee table.
She was desperate to get the food off this table...thanks Pintrest for the yummies in this picture...bit sized apple fritters. Yum. Obviously Brookie thought so too.
Ky took this picture. He was over the top proud of himself.
This girl is a STINKER when it comes to bathtime. She either wants to pull herself up on the edge, wants to lay down like pictured, or scariest of all, wants to fall back and lay on her back. Girl, you scary mommy more often than not. She comes up gagging or i catch her before she hits the water and she smiles like she is awesome funny. SO NOT FUNNY. I might have a heart attack and die one of these times.
We painted with Shaving cream the other day. . . . .
The paint brush didnt last long...fingers and hands are MUCH MUCH more fun to paint with.
He had a blast.
Kylers newest thing is this face. I absolutely love love LOVE love it. It comes along with "Im SO EXCITED" being said. He gets excited about everything, so i get to see it 10-15 times a day. I love it. It makes me happy from my head to my toes. Isnt he the cutest kid ever!
Kyler has also this past week learned he can watch movies on the computer. He thinks he is awesome cool sitting in the office chair watching a movie. Thanks George, you entertain him when i need a minute.

Now the next part takes a little more explaining. See those beautiful pom poms. See the FULL jar. Those are the amount of nights Kyler chose to stay in his bed. Kyler is HORRIBLE about staying in his bed. He will come in and out until 11:00PM some nights. It drives me and Brandon insane. INSANE. I tried everything...even sadly locking his door....but guilt overtook me and i had to come up with something else. My closest cousin whom i miss and wish i lived closer to (yes you Staci) gave me the idea to do "warm fuzzies" for staying in bed as a reward. I thought....i can sooo try this. It has worked. Almost every night. We always have our bad nights when he gets up 12 times, but for the most part he gets his pom pom. We never kept with the warm fuzzy thing...wish i would have, nevertheless he loves pom poms now. Wants his pom pom, and cry's when it gets taken away, and you better believe he stays in bed the next night. Success! He has filled this jar twice. First time he got a green bouncy ball from the dollar store. This time he wanted a balloon. So we headed to the store, he got TWO GREEN balloons. He was beyond excited. He was all smiles all night. He even got to take them to the bath. Him and "sissy" loved it.
Keep up the hard work buddy. I know its hard to stay in bed when mommy and daddy are both home, but it is for your own good, i promise!! (yes, everything is green. This kid is obsessed with green)

"Swimmin in the Ocean"

No, we didn't go to the ocean. But according to Kyler, today we went swimming in the ocean. :)
(click on image to see it better if you want)
The local swimming pool as a kiddi pool that has painted walls that look like an ocean. We wanted to do something as a family. I've been itching to get out of the house, heard the pool is nice and warm (remember here, when it wasn't) So we planned it headed out and had a great time. Both kids were in heaven. Mommy and daddy time, water, fish on the walls...doesn't that sound like kid heaven? They swam their hearts out. We lasted over an hour. I think that's impressive.
We didn't even make it out of the parking lot before Brooklyn was OUT cold. Kyler only lasted long enough to have lunch and he was OUT. Then Brooklyn woke Ky up cause for whatever reason she couldn't sleep...so they were both pretty out of it for the rest of the day....This is them enjoying Diego.
Kyler and her are best buds and i LOVE it. It makes my heart happy. Kyler wants her right by his side and he will always have his arm around her. Always.

Twinkle Little Star

Seems how the majority of my posts are about Brooklyn i find it only fair for you all to remember that Kyler is quite awesome, quite lovely, and quite everything that i love in a little boy. He is so busy. He is SO SO loud. He is so crazy, he loves buttons, he loves to talk. He loves Buzz and Woody, Percy, Deigo, and Dora, Chuggington, Jake & the NeverLand Pirates and Mickey Mouse. He loves to sing. He loves to read books. He loves to help me cook in the kitchen. He loves to watch me cook in the kitchen. He loves his daddy and wants to be glued to his side. He loves his new 4-wheeler. He loves LOVES to play outside. He loves the new carpet. He loves to give hugs. He loves bath time with "sissser". He loves "sissser". He tells everyone she is HIS sissy, not theirs. Quite possessive. He loves horses. He loves tractors. He loves playing in the sandbox...or now in the sand table.

I love the kid. Desperately love him. He is my happiness (and my pure frustration). Lately he has gotten so good at singing songs we sing often. He can sing Twinkle Little Star word for word. He was doing so while i was laying with him tonight. So i grabbed the camera and set it on the bed post to catch it. He got stage fright, and was a little distracted, but its pretty close. Enjoy his cuteness. (and ignore the creepy eyes, I had to use the night shot function cause i wouldn't turn his light on)

8, 8, who can believe she is EIGHT!

She is Eight months. 8. Eight. Holy Smokes. It seems like i just had her, and yet here she is

*in the beginning stages of crawling
*Babbling...not as much as we would like. Only does "babababa" even though mom and daddy work with her on her "mamama" and "dadada" all day long
*Loving on her big brother. He is her hero. He is her happiness and joy. He can get her giggling in 1 second flat. Loving taking baths with Big Brother, this is when giggles are in an over abundance.
splashing fun...yes that is shaving cream on the wall, and yes that is why the bathwater is yellow grossness. Kyler felt bad that i wouldn't let Brooklyn in the colored shaving cream, so he decided to splash with her.

*Trying to pull herself up to her feets. She has already mastered pulling herself up to her knees. Her favourite place is playing on brothers train table.
*Trying to crawl...she pushes herself with her toes...she looks like an inch worm. She pushes her little bum up and then slides forward. It is fun to watch. I am sure she will be crawling in no time. SCARY, and a blessing. *She wasts to keep up with all the daycare kids so desperately.
*Eating food like a champion. There is nothing she doesn't like. Nothing. We have tried all sorts of things. She goes hog wild over table food, Graham crackers, Ritz crackers, cottage cheese, bananas, and is just now starting to figure out the whole sippy cup thing. Its hard work.
*scaring mommy...I noticed a bump on the back of her head while putting it in full pigtails the other day. Never noticed it before. It was hard as hard, so i slightly panicked. Took her to the Dr. Got x-rays that showed it was abnormal. Went for a CT scan at primary's Tuesday and still waiting on the results. But, the radiologist came in while we were there and said she thought it was abnormal, but normal. :) Nothing to worry about. I am hoping that is what the final report says too. Being a mommy is hard i have decided. Hard to know what is fine, what isn't, and when to freak out and when not to. Better safe than sorry right?
Her getting her CT scan. She was such a good, brave girl. Not a tear, not a look of fear. Super content. AMAZING.

*She is a big time Mommy's girl. I'm not just saying that either. She kinda loves me a lot. :) She reaches for me even when daddy has her. Funny girl.
*She is a KISSER. Look out, she will come at anyone and give you a gigantic slobbery kiss. Love her kisses. Even though i need a towel when she is done smooching.
*She is a bugger to sleep at night. She still wakes up at least once a night. Over Christmas it was reaching up to 5 times a night. Makes for a sleepy mommy and daddy. Silly girl. Sleep through the night!! Pretty Please. *She just got moved upstairs into the "storage room" so that we can try and sleep train her a little without her waking up brother. Not a glorious room, Brookie, sleep through the night and you can go back down with big brother, he misses you.
fun side note: The other night i though Kyler had gone to bed, i was in watching a movie while Brandon was gone with church stuff. I decided to go check on Brooklyn upstairs cause i could hear a thumping sound on the ceiling. Got to the top of the stairs and about fell back down cause there was Kyler laying on the floor in front of her door slightly open. I asked him what he was doing, he was missing his "sissy". Oh Ky, your a sucker for the beautiful girl too huh!!
*She has a collection of nicknames: Most common right now is, "sissy"(kylers name for her) , "sister suzie" "sissser" (kylers name for her), and "pretty girl" along with the typical, Brookie, Brooklee, brookielyn
We love this girl. Love her love her. She has a ton of hair, beautiful dark eyes and between those two features she is a show stopper. :)

Christmas

So now that is is over a week late, and i have a million things to do still this post will be a short one, but i want to document our Christmas with at least some pictures.
This year was a different. We were getting a new sub floor in the house on the main level so we would have to move out for a week while Brandon and his brothers and dad put the new floor down. So, on the 21st i took the tree down, 22nd took the rest of the decorations down to get ready to move everyting out of the living room. Kinda sad. To make it worse one of the little girls i tend asked me if i hate Christmas, i say no, why, she says cause you aren't leaving your tree up till Santa comes. No, i dont hate Christmas, i love Christmas!  But we moved into Branodn's parents house and celerbrated with them, and used their tree and decorations, and Kyler was in Grandma and Grandpa heaven.
Kyler got spoiled by his grandparents and got everything he could have imagined.
Brookie didnt really need toys, she got 3 (a dolly, a star stacker, and a wheeling snail) and got a load of clothes, which she was in despereate need of. She is a styling little lady, i wish i had her wardrobe!
Overall, it was a successful Christmas season. Complete with a new NON SQUEAKING floor and beautiful nice wonderful amazing soft carpet. Although next year, i swear by it we are not moving anything over Christmas (we have moved 3 of the 5 Christmas we have been a family unit)
Brookie with Hannah and Cassie 2 of her cousins at my moms house. She was in heaven with all the attention and the girls were in heaven playing with her.  Several times i would loose her, couldn't find her, panic, then would find Hannah with her...this picture was after one of those such incidences.
Shoes, shoes, shoes...if you are ever in the mood to steal shoes come to Grover over Thanksgiving or Christmas, there is a plethora of shoes on the landing...

Rainbow Jello...labor of love
Kim created this centerpiece....SOO Beautiful. (Thanks Pintrest for the idea for celephane in the glass and not real ice.)
Kyler Chilling watching Dora on the way back from Grover...he and brookie got a new flat screen tv set for all our travels....so blissful. So SO blisful.
Day after Grover trip...Brookie was out cold...all that playing is rough!
Our tree...we only did 2 short marshmallow garlands...next year i hope for a longer attention span
isnt she pretty in her new Christmas outfit!
She LOVED Santa
Kyler not so much in love with Santa...but he gave him a gift with Disney Cars wrapping paper, so he was happy for that
a local dairy farmer has reindeer...so we visited them on Christmas Eve...Kyler was in love with reindeer the whole season. He was so heartbroken Santa never brought his reindeer to the 2 parties he was at. This trip was a success...all except the reindeer wouldn't come close to us so now we still hear that the reindeer were too shy to come say hi.
Ky and Daddy with the reindeer in the background
Boy heaven...hammering nails at our house during remodel
more heaven...pulling up tac strips
My hard worker on his lunch break...Pop Tarts and milk...lunch of Champions (or lunch for workers in a house that is very messy and most things inaccessible in the kitchen. He didn't complain. :)  )
