Happy One Year to US!!!

Well how time flys!!! On May 11th Brandon and I celebrated our one year anniversary. I still cannot believe that we have been married for a whole year, but at the same time i don't remember much of life before Brandon. He is my everything. He is the most incredible man, and really he deserves a gold metal for putting up with me and all my moody nights the last year. They say that the first year is the hardest, but i have to say that it is the most rewarding as well. While it is hard to adjust to a new way of life, it is the greatest blessing we all receive. Brandon teaches me so much, and i truly cannot wait for all rest of our lessons to be learned.
For our anniversary we took off on Thursday and went up to my families cabin in Fairview Canyon. This was fun because this is where we spend some of our honeymoon last year. The odd part is that last year we went fishing and four wheeling.......this year we went SNOWMOBILING!!! there was still 5 feet of snow!! DERR what is up with this weather?? But it was a great time. We really didn't do too much snowmobiling because while there were places with 5 feet of snow, on top of hills where the wind has blown the snow, there much considerable less.....so we had to be careful of rocks. We went for a ride together at sunset, and it was BEAUTIFUL! What a beautiful world we live in!
After the cabin on Friday night we got a hotel room in Capitol Reef and stayed the night there. then went to my grandparents 65 anniversary party. We were married on their anniversary, just 63 years later! It was a great party, and we even got congrats from those at the party.
You may be thinking....wait May 11th that wasn't anytime from Thursday-Saturday...your right, but we celebrated early so we could celebrate Mothers Day with our moms.
I think this posting is long enough now....sorry if you got bored, this is like a journal for me so sorry for you for having to read all my rambling.
Here are the top 12 reasons i Love being Married:
12. Someone to talk with
11. Someone to scare away the monsters or scary people after watching scary movies!
10. Someone else to blame when things go wrong :)
9. Someone cute to look at whenever i want!
8. Someone to learn from when he least expects it
7. Someone to take care of--cook dinner for
6. Someone to help you work thorough your hard times with
5. Gaining a new amazing family
4. Having someone to travel in the car with, or to travel with in general
3. Having someone to lean on when you are tired and need a shoulder
2. Someone to laugh with
1. Having my best friend with me for all eternities

Hello Manti

Ok so we moved to Manti on the same Saturday Brandon graduated. This was good planning on our part cause we got LOTS of help to move with all of Brandon's family, plus my mom and Gaylen. Thanks guys!!
We are living right on main street in Manti, in Brandon's Grandmas house. We get to live here and take care of the place till she returns in May of 2009. This is a great blessing in our lives, now we can save some money, plant a garden, i can plant flowers, we get to have a dishwasher(even if it doesn't work the greatest, it is still a dishwasher), and plenty of space to move around in--this is important after you have lived in tiny apartments!
Brandon has already found a job working for CO Building, he works on machines that cut metal. Another blessing in our life that he was able to get a job so quickly. The job i want doest interview until July, so needless to say i need a summer job, but more importantly Someone is watching out for us.

Goodbye USU!!

Yea for Brandon!! He graduated on May 2!! Good job honey, i am proud of you!!
Graduation was a good experience. I am glad i got to experience it as a by standard, and not just a participant. Commencement was actually not to boring. The Valedictorian gave a speech NO ONE will ever forget. He was a goof! He really had nothing to say, and just rambled on saying that he was not going to give a formal address...his speech will go down in history!
Also, Elder Perry was there to receive an honorary degree. I have never been so close to him and wow he is tall. I wish i could have met him, but just seeing him a few rows in front was cool enough for me.
Congrats Brandon!!
President Albrecht is from Wayne County, so we got to get a picture with him thanks to Gaylen for having strings to pull!!!

Bye Bye Daycare

Well it is true, i had to quit my job as a daycare provider to move. It was a very bitter sweet event. I have loved my job working with the kids at daycare. I loved getting to know each and everyone of them. I spend at least 9 hours a day with the little munchkins, and loved them all as if they were my own.
When i think about all that i learned from this job, and cant help but to be grateful for the opportunity i was given to work there. It was hard, i will be the first to admit it, but i appreciate every minute of it as well. The hands on education i was able to receive there, is priceless. I was able to apply and experiment all that i learned from my degree.
I started working there the week after i got home from my honeymoon. I was given the job on the spot. I only worked part time till i graduated in December, and then full time after that. Spending that much time there, and with the awesome boss that let me do whatever i wanted, I got to redo the whole program and was able to make this program into one, i hope will last.
I just cant help but think that i was placed in that job for many reasons. More reasons than i think i can fathom, but am grateful for everything that this job meant to me and what the kids and parents i was able to work with meant to me. (P.S. this is a miracle picture.....you get 15 kids to old still for a photo!!!)

Bargin Dream Bedroom Set

So yesterday me and Brandon decided that we would go to Fishers Home Furnishings to look at what they had on their Anniversary sale. We have been looking for a bedroom set for quite a while, and thought we might find what we wanted there. We really had no intentions of buying, just browsing....but this 'just browsing' trip took a sharp turn to a purchasing trip when we got an AMAZING deal. I guess i should give you a little background, we looked at RC Willy for a bedroom set once, and I found my dream bed. It was like a fancy western looking bed--so that fits me pretty well. : ) BUT it was over our budget.... way to expensive for us poor newlyweds and students....so we left it there...I was bummed caused i loved it. Well anyway, when we went to Fishers i asked if they had that bed, which they did not, but told me they would give us their Anniversary price on it out of their catalog, this would take off a couple hundred....I got excited, it was falling closer to the range we could afford. I told them we would have to think about it, and we left. I called RC Willy to find out how much they were offering, and to see what i could do about getting them to lower their price to this awesome sale price we were offered somewhere else(we like RC Willy, they are a good store).......and TADA--they offered it to us for another couple hundred off, plus we got free shipping to Manti. Even better is that we don't have to 'spend' any money on it. I am selling my own bed i had bought when i was younger, and with my graduation money we don't have to spend any other money on it. Awesome eh!! So now we are moving into a new place, and getting a new way awesomely beautiful and way good deal bed!! To say the least i am happy that i am trying to work the system just a little bit these days. I usually don't have the guts to ask for deals.....i wont even barder down the prices of things in Mexico like other people do....so this is one big step for me!!! The picture of our bed is from the manufacturers.

Braggin Rights

So today i thought i would give another try on making an angel food cake, cause strawberries were on a way good sale yesterday, and nothing goes better with strawberries than angel food cake. This was an effort you see because niether I nor my amazing momma can make angel food cake......its in our blood i guess you can say!! : ) But today I thought that i would put myself to the test...i have only successfully make an angel food cake once, and today was the day i had to prove myself as a periodical angel food cake baker......and................................Wallaaa..................It worked!!!!!!!! Perfect in fact!! I have to say that i am pretty much amazing in my book of people who can make angel food cake!!!

My second moment of bragging is that i am starting my very own garden.....this is a first for me and well i am pretty excited. I get all excited whenever i see my little friends(the plants) growing! The night i planted them i was all smiles thinking i was one step closer to becoming as amazing as my own mother who had the garden of all gardens when we were growing up. Thanks to her I have inherited a green thumb and now have cute little sprouts coming up out of a tiny bit of dirt! Brandon is good to check on his little friends too and together, i think we are going to have a pretty much amazing garden this summer/fall!! I get to try my hand at canning, lets all pray that i can keep up on that next endevor of mine. I have time to prepare.....thats good, i need it i think!! Here are our little friends!
P.S. their favorite song (and the kids at daycares too) is
"Little seeds lie fast asleep in a row, in a row..........WAKE UP WAKE UP calls the sun, wake up now and GROW!!!"

First Fire of the Season!!!!

Notice the good quality of this pictures....they come from a camera phone.
Thank goodness for technology!!
Isnt he a cute cowboy!! I think so!

Yea for good weather and living close to a canyon.
Last night i decided to provide Brandon with a break from all his homework, and took ourselves up the canyon to have a hot dog and marshmallow roast. It was a blast!!
We both love being outdoors and also love having a fire to sit by. Really one of the best things that ever happened to us happened by a fire, after having a hot dog roast.......we got engaged, so to say the least we are partial to campfires! Last night, though, We finally found a campground that had picnic tables that were accessible from the road....Logan canyon doesn't like to open their campgrounds to drive through, i imagine for a couple more weeks. So we gathered up our stuff and walked in and used the facility anyway....others were too, so i guess you could say if our friends were jumping off a bridge than we would too! : ) Once we finally got our first fire of the season started and a blazing ( this took a while, i think we forget from season to season!! : ) ) we got our yummy brats out and cooked us a mean hot dog!! Then we had a timeout for a small snowball fight.....there was snow just over from us.....cold hands made it a short, but fun activity. Then we got warm by our now very warm fire, then put out a tarp and blanket and watched a movie. It was such a nice night the stars were beautiful and we enjoyed a great night together.
I will miss Logan. We are moving to Manti in 3 weeks.....it will be a great new start in life, but sad to see Logan gone for good in my rear view mirror. Logan has many memories tagged to it, everything from single activities to meeting the man of my dreams, marrying him and then living here together. I am however, excited to start the new page of my life, and meet new people and start living 'real' life with a full time job both as husband and wife.
