Another month older
I read a friends blog the other day and it was all about how fast time is flying. I have to agree with her 100%. Where does time go...i believe into my little boys body and brain.....because they are growing like a weed!
He turned 14 months last week...and while big monumental stuff to announce are getting few and far between i still like to do this so i remember what was going one...like my own ages and stages reference for my next kids, and i plan to make a book when he is 2 of his first 2 years accomplishments/likes/dislikes/etc.
So without further adu:
He is WALKING...now i must say not all the time, but he will walk and take steps like a champ now a days. We went camping last weekend and for 3 days he pushed and ran behind a Tonka Truck and his little 4-wheeler which much have done this boy some good, cause on Sunday when we got home we tried, like we usually do, to get him to walk to me or Brandon and he actually did it!! What a seriously happy day! Makes my heart happy and sad at the same time. My baby isn't so "baby" anymore. What happened! Just last year he was little enough to pack in one arm, now he is ready to walk on his own.
He is FINALLY eating better. I talked to a nurse the other day at the health department and she said he is low on Iron, which is common in children who drink lots of milk...ya he drinks lots. I guess he is filling up on calories from the milk so he doesn't want to eat. Duh! Why didn't this thought cross my mind?? So this week i have cut WAYYYYY back on milk...he only needs 16 oz so that is all he has been getting until he eats his meal. Holy Smokes what a difference! I am not saying this is a fix all, but it really helped around our house. He is eating like he used to, which is just what this mommy needed!!
While we are talking about eating here is a not all inclusive list, but a start on what he likes/dislikes
Likes: LOVES blueberries(he will eat so many they stain his bum), hot dogs, baloni, any fruit, and any veggie ( i am spoiled i know) He loves cracker, and string cheese. Yogurt is a favorite along with cottage cheese
Dislikes: Bread, its really hard for me to get him to eat a sandwich, eggs in any way shape or form, pancakes...there might be more but i am not remembering them
He is a gabber. whenever we are driving, which is often, he just talks and talks and talks. He is always making sound, weather is is a truck sound, train sound, squeels, or jabbers. He hasnt learned any new words lately, but for how much he jabbers, i am sure when he does learn to talk it will be constant.
His Favorite toys are: His rocking dog, walk/ride John Deere Tractor, His 4-wheeler, and his little people barn. (or any other toy that the kids i am watching have in thier hands...he is not so good at sharing yet.)
I think that is all for now.

Nothin But Tail Lights
So tonight, after seeing this brother:
For the first time since December, such a happy happy day....
We were driving back from "Up North" us small Southern towns reference to Provo area or SLC....this time we are referenceing Provo, where we met up with Chase for dinner.
Onto the real reason for this post, although seeing Chase was the major highlight, and the amazing Mexican food we found being second...making this third...but VERY mentionable....
Dun Dun Dun....
I figured in just the 3 years we have been married we have spend a month and a half driving!!!!! HOLY CRAP thats a lot!! It makes me quite ill to think i have wasted that much time on the road...i think i need to come up with a road hobby that allows me to feel as though i am not wasting my life away on the road, but using it wisley....only catch, i have to be able to watch the road all the time or i get car sick...big problem. :)
Oh well i just thought i would share with the world the sick truth that we have wasted that much time between two solid lines...pathetic...but a way of life...a way of life i don't think i would trade to live in the big city.

Summer Catchup
So I have a bunch of pictures on my camera that i need to share with our summer trips...so this may be long...warning you!
First off:
Ky LOVES his little pool
latley he loves to play in water...if he finds a puddle he must splash, if he hears water turn on he wants to put his hands in it, and when i fill up his pool he first just splashes then after he has gotten his fill of that, will crawl in and play right in the pool. :)
Next:
Memorial Day...yes i know how far behind i ham
We went up to Palisades Park and had a BBQ some fished, the rest of us just sat around and talked, or played on the playground. here are some cute pictures from that night.
Next: Burton Campout
Tons of pictures, so my favorites i will do single the rest are in the collage.
My whole life we have had the Burton Campout with all my moms brothers and sisters and thier kids. It is a special most favorite time of the summer for me. When we were little it was filled with building forts, crafts, dirt, mud, water and the like.....now its full of chasing my kid around in the dirt, mud and water! :) Oh and a little R&R and catching up with my cousins. We are all really close, so the campout provies us a chance to fiannly catch up now that we dont see eachother weekly at Grandmas house like we did when we were young.
Sad note from Kylers first time camping this year....he got 9 slivers all of which we had to remove, 2 we had to actually dig out. Poor boy. Thanks to an awesome Uncle Ross for being so sweet to remove the one in his hand, it was really deep and Kyler screamed the whole time, which then resulted in an awesome nap and gave mom time to read :)
Sad note from Kylers first time camping this year....he got 9 slivers all of which we had to remove, 2 we had to acually dig out. Poor boy. Thanks to an awesome Uncle Ross for being so sweeet to remove the one in his hand, it was really deep and Kyler screamed the whole time, which then resulted in an awesome nap and gave mom time to read :)
Also big news at the camp-out....Maddy Joy lost her first tooth!! She was sitting in my lap eating her popcorn when she realized it had come out...she literally panicked, cried and cried until Grandma Nancy miraculously found that tiny tooth in her popcorn bag, what is the chances that she didnt 1. swallow the tiny thing or 2 loose it on the floor!? Dont know, but she was one dang happy little girl all night waiting to see if the tooth fairy would find her while camping...it did...she got $1....i think over time the tooth fairy has increased his rate...i dont think i got a dollar!!!!
One night we had a "minute to win it" compition....these are just so fun....this is why i love my family!!
one is where Jake and Bryan had to get an Oreo from their forehead into thier mouth:
This one Grandpa and Haley had to knock over bottels with tights on thier head with a ball in the bottom:
and another Brandon and Scott had to unroll crape paper by spinning their arms:
There were more, but i didn't catch them.....so fun!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then when we got home Saturday we imediatly regrouped and left again in 30 minutes time to go boating with Brandons parents (when putting on Kylers swim suit is when i found 3 more slivers in his poor knees, one of which Brandon had to dig out, thus resulting in screams and followed by yet another amazing nap)
So back to boating...Brandon is a champ...without much effort on his part he can pop right up on a knee board, much to his 2 brothers dismay. They had a hard time getting up and took SEVERAL tries and lots of coaching from thier big bro to get them up. Then he pops right up on the wake board, too. What a show-off...a cute show-off that is! :)
Then to the monumental news...................I GOT UP on the wake board!! I have tried my whole life...YW activities, friends taking me out, other family taking me out, and none have resulted in sucess...but Brandons parents boat is the lucky one...after 4 or 5 tries...
Well there is an update...hopefully i will keep up to date a little bit better
Ky and Grandma...although he doesn't look it, he LOVES being on the boat, and surprisingly enough doesn't mind the obnoxious life-jacket
Me Wake boarding (happy day!)
Me crashing--look careful and you can see the board
Poor Kyler was purely exhausted after camping all week and then boating all day!
Once he did fianally wake up he had his first corn on the cob...it. was.awesome!
Live Like You Were Dieing
The song by Time McGraw Live Like You Were Dieing has always been a favorite of mine. I think it has a good message. Life is so short, we have no idea when your time will be up here on earth, so we do need to live each day to its fullest, not taking any shortcuts, being nice to everyone, and doing all the things we want to now, and not putting them off for another day.
You might ask what spurred this....yesterday at a training for work we broke for lunch and all drove a half a block to the food joint....well one of the men in our training, apparently had a seizure when he pulled in the parking lot, was able to pull into a stall,, opened his door to his car, but fell out and went unconscious. The woman who car pooled with him, thank heavens called 911 as soon as he had the seizure and the ambulance station was right across the street so as soon as the volunteer EMT's got there(which was INCREDIBLY fast) they were working on him. He had no vital signs when he left. He has just been joking around with us all, giving the teacher a hard time, and telling us how excited he was to work for the census, and in 2 minutes from training to the lunch he was gone. They did revive him on the way, and they are hoping he will be just fine...he had a massive heart attack and respiratory failure at the same time.
This is why i am thinking about all this. Life is so fragile. Life is so short. We need to make sure that we are doing all that we can everyday, and not forget why we are here...its not to sit idly and let life pass us by, we need to be moving everyday up the mountain of our existence, learning, growing, laughing, loving.
Last night while laying in bed i also thought about how blessed I am in this life.
I have this man:
(don't mind his scruffiness...we were camping...but really i like the scruffiness...and i love his smile in this one, and it is rare to get him to smile for me...so its a favorite picture)
Who is an amazing husband and father. He is my eternal companion and i am so grateful, so grateful for him and what he does and who he is. I wish there were better words to express how i really feel about this man.
I have this little boy:
Who is my pride and joy every minute of his life. He brings so much excitement and joy into our home.
I have this mom:
Who is my lifeline. She is my example of everything i hope to accomplish in my life. She is my best friend, she means more to me than any of you will ever know. She is everything good in this world, she teaches, comforts, encourages, expects goodness, loves, and so so much more. I love this woman!
I have this best friend:
Who also is my lifeline. She is there whenever i need someone to cry to, complain to, ask questions to, share happy moments with that others might find insignificant. She is the kind of friend we all hope to have sometime in our lives, and i have been blessed to have her for somewhere around 6 or so years. She doesn't live close, she actually lives pretty far away, but its like she is right across the street...she is wonderful to me.
I have these brothers:
Who love me, teach me, and are all big brothers to me...even the one that is younger than me. I love them dearly
These in-laws:
Who are wonderful people. I feel so blessed to have them in my family and to be in their family. They have incredible attributes that have taught me lots in the last 3 years i have known them.
I have this house:
(this is a picture from last year..my yard is much nicer this year!)
That is a lot of work, but worth it in the end to see how beautiful we have been able to make it
I have this job:
Which is a blessing in and of it self...i worked one project and was just invited back to another that was by invitation only and was only for those who came highly recommended. WOW, i didn't even know my boss liked me...i was chosen with 2 others out of 17 people. What a blessing. I know my Father in Heaven was looking after us on this one. We really needed the money right now.
Long post, but i had to write down my thoughts and if you are still reading...you get a gold star!
I am grateful for all you good friends too...i learn from each of you as well, and feel your support all of the time. I come from a great family...one full of cousins that populate the majority of my blog list...i am grateful for them:
This life is worth something. We are are surly here on earth for a reason. I am blessed to know why, know what i am doing, and where i am going. I am blessed to be a member of this church:
cause without it all of the above mentioned people and things wouldn't matter as much.
Thanks for reading....here is your gold star....
13 Months Young
I am going to continue doing these hopefully every month. More or less just to document his advancements in life and development so i can look back and see just when he started talking, walking, spiting, you get the idea. So you in no means have to read these, They are for my benefit, and i am a HORRIBLE journal keeper, but i can do the blog with no problem, so here we are, and here we go:
13 months and......
~stood for atleast 30 seconds yesterday with NO help! Yippy!
~Is getting lots better at walking behind objects...like his tractor (Sunday he was almost running behind it)
~He for some odd reason has started looking at his hand and saying "Oww" with the saddest look on his face--whenever he wants so attention, or if he thinks he did something that seems like it should hurt ( i can tell the difference between his "faking" and his real only cause he grabs his ears when he gets hurt for real (i think this comes from having a constant ear infection for so long, pain=ear, sad but true)
~ He has the sound down like an art for cars and trucks or tractors or really anything that moves and has wheels :) I put sleepers on him the other night and he realized they had cars and trucks on them, so he would point at them and make the sound...dang cute!
~ he is my little scientist. They always referred this stage of life in all my child development classes as the little scientist age...its so true. He loves figuring out how the wheels turn, trying to figure out the dang TV remotes, which he has found the power button and uses it often, he is just so curious and i LOVE it! So fun to watch him learn.
~ He is the worlds fastest crawler...and i mean this in all seriousness...just ask anyone in our ward they watch him often scurry away from us in a hurry
~ He officially signs the correct sign for food, but when i ask if he is finished and sign it, he just claps...so that is his sign for finished, but he is consistent with it, so i know what he means, which is great! Go baby signing!
~ He is just the funniest, cuddliest, most handsome little man in my life and i love him to death
I am sure i am forgetting something, so, as i often do i will add them when i think of them
Typical happy face
What a CHEESE!!
apparently it hurts to get your picture taken...he kept doing it when i was taking pictures
~ He has been doing this since he was born, but i don't think i have ever documented it, so i am today. He ALWAYS crosses his little feet at the ankles. When rocking him to sleep, he cant fall asleep until his ankles are crossed, when eating, they must be crossed(unless he is kicking the back of the high chair)~ He has the sound down like an art for cars and trucks or tractors or really anything that moves and has wheels :) I put sleepers on him the other night and he realized they had cars and trucks on them, so he would point at them and make the sound...dang cute!
