So at my first doctor appointment my doc recommended that i shouldn't lift more than 25 lb while being pregnant......at the time i could have never understood how hard that would be for me to obey. I guess the difficulty in following that direction from the wise man was that i am a do it yourself kinda gal....i don't like to appear lazy to others, or if something needs gettin done and no one will do it.... I will do it.
Well you might be asking why the random post Marci.....well like mentioned in the title I had a lesson to learn. With moving it was incredibly difficult for me to listen to the recommendation and to be honest i over did it then...and i paid for it....i was so sore afterwards, and i remember thinking i learned my lesson....and i think i might have even told my sweet man that i had as well. Sweet Brandon is so good to worry about me and really helps keep me in check with what the doc said.
Well i guess i didn't learn my lesson good enough last month while moving, cause today i took it upon myself to clear the snow off the sidewalk at work in the playground. Now that might seem like a small task to some....but this is not the case (which should have been my first clue to steer clear). This sidewalk has not been cleared since we got back after Christmas and has really needed it, And it runs along the whole fence(making a great bike trail for the kiddos). It has gone begging and i hated to send kids out there on the ice and snow. So today i decided it was a good day to clear it off...cause no one else around seemed to care and it was warm today. Well 2 hours later, i was regretting that decision.
No worries i am good and the swimmer is still a wiggling (P.S. I love that I can feel the little bugger now!!) but man oh man i have learned my lesson now. I am dieing from soreness, and honestly am becoming more aware of the fact that its not about me anymore. I have a little swimming critter in me that i already have to take care of. This has been a really hard lesson for me to learn, but after worrying today once i was done and wanting to die and started worrying after one girl said she went into labor after shoveling snow(although she was 9 months) i decided that this lesson is learned and will be followed without any complaints from me. Brandon is glad that i have learned this lesson, He worries so much about me and the monkey and I hate making him worry. This has been a good experience for me, an eye opener as to the blessing I have to be pregnant and that i need to take care of my little one the best that i can in me as much as i plan on once he/she is here! Funny what teaches us what we need to know the most.
So there is my longer than i expected story. Next lesson i need to learn is to be a whole lot less stubborn....that one might take a while!! :( Thanks for listening to me blab.
