Vermont

I love to travel, I love to see new places, and I LOVE saving money when doing these 2 things that are quite costly! So it seems very convenient that i have had family that has chosen to move far away, some more permanently than others. 2 years ago we got to go to England and stay with my brother Luke and his family while touring England, and decided while we were so close we would take a jont to Paris too. It was lovely!
This time we got to go to Beautiful Vermont to see my brother Chase who is in medical school out there. We left late late on the 4th and got there the morning of the 5th, and this blog post is dedicated to that vacation. :)

The flight out
Typically i get ecstatic to fly, i love the hustle bustle of getting to your plane, sitting by new people, and well just flying, I love it! This time, i never got those excited butterflies, and excited anticipation of a long flight...i was filled with nervousness, worry, and quite honestly stress! Why the change? This little dude was coming along for the ride........

and while people in church think his constant moving and wiggles and squeals are adorable, in tight quarters people rarely think a crying, squealing, noisy almost 18 month old is adorable. But, we packed a million snacks a few new movies from grandma and hit the run way.
A girl in her 20's sat in the same sections of seats with us, and i warned her she might be in for a long flight, i thought it only fair to give advance sorrys for a long loud ride. She answered back, "its ok i have nieces and nephews." I thought so do i but i dont love other peoples loud kids! :)
But in the end, Ky cried for about 15 minutes and then gave up the ghost and took a good long snooze for the rest of the flight. awww sigh of relief. However, any of you held a sleeping toddler for 5 hours....SOOOO not comfortable! I had a goal to improve our next flight home.....which i did, and will tell you about it later. While we were waiting to exit the plane, the girl sitting next to us complimented him on how good of a little boy he was, thanks! and another woman on the way out said the same thing. So comforting to hear, i guess my boy isn't as monstrous as i thought! :)

The Visit
It is so nice to be with family. I love it beyond all other things.
We visited Boston with Chase and Missy, which was so fun. We traveled down the Freedom Trail visiting all the historical sights leading to the Revolutionary War. It was really informative...and i realized how much i have forgotten since I was in school....a sad realization! :)
It was so fun to walk all though town just chatting and visiting with Chase and Missy and seeing all the sights. We had lunch, finished our way to the end which is Bunker Hill, then headed back to our car... Ky was such a trooper the whole day just being pushed around in his stroller, with occasional stops when we would let him out to play...like here at the park....

He had a blast, i think this was his favorite time of the whole trip...just chasing the pigeons and squirls. Just look that this complete joy on his face.....

Once we were back in Vermont we hung out at their house, caught up with my parents, went sailing....which was so freezing cold, but SOOO worth it. Brandon and I have never been sailing, so it was a great experience to have...Brandon even got to be 2nd mate to Chase (Missy being his first mate) The colors around the lake were so beautiful, and just being on the water was fabulous!

Then Missys brother and wife came into town, and mom and Gaylen took off to Boston, and we got to hang out with them for the rest of our trip.
We visited Sharon, VT where Joseph Smith was born on Sunday. It was BEAUTIFUL! The colors were so beautiful, the sunset was one of the best i have ever seen or caught on camera. The kids loved playing in the leaves, and we have a great time posing for a million and one pictures

The next day we got to rent a 12 passenger van and all 9 of us loaded in and took off to Stowe, VT to the Ben and Jerry's Factory, the Apple Cider Mill, a Cheese and Chocolate taster place and then a gorgeous drive through Stowe.
Yes, it was a day full of food, and by the end of the day, on a yucky windy road i lost it all....first time getting sick in over 3 years. Yuck! But it was a very fun day!!
Then we headed home...This time i got up the nerve to ask if there were empty seats on the flight so we could put Kylers car seat on the plane and let him sleep in there....oh happy happy happy happy day!! There was and they let us have one. It made the cumbersomeness of hauling that dang car seat through the airport SOOO worth it. Ky slept the whole way home...and again we were happily greeted with compliments on our great little traveler while getting off the plane. So nice to hear...that compliment meant more than i ever thought i would! :)

Here are the rest of the pictures from our trip. I was going to journal better about the whole trip, but i want to get the pictures up for now, and am not in the mood to write anymore. Opps! :)

Boy-ish-ness at its fullest

We all know boys are dirty, gross, love the outdoors, and all that good stuff....right.
Well yesterday Kyler made sure I knew that he is all boy by:

Here is the story behind this picture just to help explain it....
Last night we went over to Brandons parents house to help get the yard ready for the wedding this weekend. Kyler helped put new gravel down in one part of the backyard, and had a good ol time. Then being the busy boy he is, got tired of helping daddy and came to help mom pick all the tomatoes, but instead of picking them he wanted to get rid of them by eating them

He hate THREE WHOLE tomatoes!! I could not believe it! Then he went to play and every time he leaned over, sat down, he whined and said "owie" Me thinking my good golly he ate 3 tomatoes he has a super full belly and told him he was living the consequences of his own actions...and yes i did tell him that. He didnt appreciate it, but would forget his tummy hurt and would go about his business again, until he would bend over or sit down, say "owie" i would again tell him sorry, but it was your choice to over stuff yourself, and on and on.....
then finally i thought i should loosen his belt, i had forgot he had one on and thought that would help....nope.
So finally (probably 2 hours later) we went in, and i was getting him ready for a bath...took his pants off and rocks came out, thought that was weird, then i took his onesie off and loads of pebbles came out, then i went to take his diaper off and wala....the explanation for all the "owies" and they were real "owies" he had a rash and scratches all over his lower tummy from the rocks. I felt like a horrible mom! Cleaned them out, put him in the tub got him clean and put him in the high chair for dinner....

My night of reminders of boy grossness was not over

After he was done i got him out set him down while i cleaned the high chair and he ran over to grandma. She says "did he spill?" I say "no, dont think so, why?" Ya he was drenched, no not in pee but bad diarrhea....

SICK!! His sleeper bottoms had the feet and no joke the poop had filled the feet part and was filling up the legs!!!! Oh geez I guess that is what happens when a toddler eats too many tomatoes!!!
He got ran to the bathroom and got another bath while mom just about lost her dinner while cleaning out the poopy jammies.

Oh the joys of motherhood and little boys!!! I love him, but seriously could he be anymore disgusting or boy??

yes 3 posts in 2 days....so keep scrolling if you care! :)

16 Months

These posts are actually getting harder...things don't change as drastically as quickly anymore, but here i go anyway

Ky is now..........................
* Finally learning its ok to share mom with the other kids in the house, and his toys
* Loves to color (although i don't know if it is the coloring or the taste testing the different colors)
* Loves having his "Dagee" (say it like it looks) or doggie back home and is all happiness when he gets to go play with her
*He absolutely loves potato chips--if he even sees the bag he is busily signing for more, and please over and over
* He signs lots now. He uses "more", "please", "help", "all done", "food",  occasionally "up" and finally is getting "thank you"
*my mom taught him, "beep, beep" while we were at Lake Powell and says it all day
*has learned to say "bebe" or baby and any child 3 or younger is a baby to him
* He only wants to drink out of a real cup now at dinner time, (much to my dismay) we get serious wet shirts to clean up
*tried to take him to nursery...he screams bloody murder....crap i need to get him away from me a little more often, he is slightly attached. :)
* He now chimes in during prayers to add mommy, daddy, and dagee and occasionally we get a amen (which doesn't sound like amen, but it is the same every time)
*He is the happiest, Handsomest, cutest, busiest, teasinest little boy ya'll ever meet

(picture for this month is actually pictures we got taken at the school, cute huh!)

and if you want to offer any advice to me about traveling with a toddler that is so crazy then go here

Travel Helps

We are taking off in just one week to fly to Vermont for a much needed visit to my brothers and sister-in-laws. This is where you come in handy, what advice do you have for a mom who is traveling with a toddler--a extrememly busy toddler (seriously people at church laugh at us cause he just cannot help it but to be moving, and even say he is defenatly the busiest in the ward, not somthing a mom wants to hear :) )
So besides the cop-out of bennydryl...i really perfer not to needlessly drug my child....bring on the thoughts and your experince on travels with young kiddos....

PLEASE HELP!

Why I Filled The Bathtub Twice. . . . . .

Walked away from the filling bathtub with my little shadow...but he must have faked me out, cause seconds later i hear splashing....i chuckled cause i had a pretty good idea where that sound came from and who was making it.
I walk into the bathroom with my camera in hand and hear a '''oooooo" like 'oh no she found me'.
I have to admit i busted out laughing let him play for a mintue longer, he was having so much fun, he was full of laughs and squeals, which i cannot help but to encourage cause they make my heart sing.
Then we undressed the boy, and drained the tub cause it was full of what was on his fillthy shoes and caught a glimps of what a toddler veiws as sheer freedom :)

Then tried again the right way....

Can i say i love my boy....

I LOVE MY BOY!!

Labor Day Weekend

Can we believe that it is Fall!!?? I honestly cannot be more excited! The only bummer is that now our camping trips have come to a close. No more campfires, no more super dirty little boy, no more fresh goodness mountain air...sad. But, it is fall, and really nothing is better than fall...NOTHING.
This past weekend we went camping with the Childs family and had a really good time. Thanks to a mom who lets us use the tent trailor we didnt freeze. The last night I honestly had to play though my mind what i would do if that wind picked up the tent trailor and threw us. It was slightly freaky! But we had too much fun at the same time.
Ky got to go for his longest 4-wheeler ride yet...he could have earlier except we were afraid of the dang ticket we would be met with for not having a helmet for our little man, so we finally got his helmet and took him for a good 4 hour ride. He loved it. He was all smiles. What a stinkin cute little man we have.  Here are some pictures from our weekend. Look forward to many more cause this weekend we are going boating to Powell and i am sure a picture overload will follow. :)

What We Found This Morning

The other day i was bragging about how smart my 15 month was....i wish i wouldnt have cause i think i am reaping the fruits of that brag.
One such insident was the other day when i had put him to bed with a light jacket on cause he had been super cold all morning and thought he would appriciate the warmth during nap time....nope i came in to get him later and he had taken it off...i thought weird he didn't mean to, it just must have happened while moving in his crib.... nope........................................
cause this morning Brandon found this when he went to get Ky up
Ya the kid had taken his shirt off! I guess no more 2 piece jammers around here!
He is getting big and full of trouble lately!

If You Give a Kyler a Cookie......

He might just eat it while laying on the floor.
This is Kylers new way of eating in the kitchen when he is in his silly mood....which is OFTEN. He is such a charachter and there is never a dull moment around here with him.

Here is a movie of him dancing too just cause it is fun to share his cuteness with others. He can dance much better than this, but i caught the very tail end of his "show-off" mood.
and yes these were done on the same day, like i said he is a goof ball and I just happened to have my camera out this day. It was sometime last week.
