Ok i am slow at getting these updates up. Slightly irritating, but i guess it just means i have a life outside of the computer! :)
Brookyln Kay turned 2 weeks last Thursday. She is such a precious little lady. She is such a pleasant baby. She rarely crys. Really, not even when she is hungry. She crys when we get her naked and when she is wide awake and gets put in her car seat, that's all.She is a SERIOUS grunter, and this is how she communicates her wants and needs. Like a mother can distinguish crys for food, poopy diaper, etc. that is what i can do with her grunts. :)
She doesn't like to be swaddled, strange baby. We still do, because she still wakes herself up with those newborn flailing arms, but she lets me know she is mad at me each time i do it until she cant help herself and falls to sleep.
She is a champion sleeper like her big brother. She sleeps almost all day and almost all night. At night she will go 4 hours between feedings for the most part, bless her heart. Then during the day its usually 2-3 hours between feedings. She has to sleep in her vibrator chair (no vibrations though, she does her mad grunt when you turn it on) because she has gas and it must help her sleep better. She wasn't sleeping very well at all last week, so out of desperation for sleep i put her in her chair at night because it seemed during the day she slept so soundly in it. It did the trick.
Her hair i swear is still growing. Its crazy! It has a curl to it, but i am not quiet sure what to do with it, so i slick it down while wet so it doesn't go out of control.
She is our beautiful girl. We are loving every minute of her. I have to admit i was scared to death of girl...but so far so good. I absolutely adore the Little Miss, and she is already getting herself wrapped tightly around her daddy's finger. Kyler still things she is the coolest thing since sliced bread, which we hope doesn't end. He adores her and always wants to help burp her and is constantly touching the poor girls head and giving her head millions of kisses.
I took her to her 2 week checkup and the dr said she is perfect. She is gaining weight like a champion as well. She is 8lb 1 oz!! That is a whole lb more than she needed to be at this appointment.
Her stats at her appointment were:
Weight 8lb 1 oz 38%tile
Length: 20.5 inches 56%tile
Head:14.2 inches 51%tile (a percentile Kyler has yet to achieve, he has a super mini head.)

2 Years Old
My biggest little man turned two last week. Friday to be exact. Oh how i love this little man. He is everything happy in my life. He makes being a mom so exciting, so fun, so frustrating :), so rewarding, and so wonderful.
My favorite things about this little boy include, but are never limited to:
*Him talking. He is a huge talker. He is talking in sentences now, which always cracks me up. He can get 3 to 4 words in a sentence, although the longer the sentence the bigger the gap between the words, so you have to be careful not to cut him off, cause he gets super frustrated when you do that!
*He is irrevocably attached to TRACTORS lately. He loves love playing with tractor toys, riding his tractor toy, and going for rides in daddys "BIG TRACTOR!!"
*He knows colors, but refuses to tell you the right names. He calls everything "beeue" or blue no matter the color. Although he is getting to really like orange lately too, so he will give that one the correct name. (and that is because the BIG TRACTOR is orange)
*He is in love with his little sister. He loves to hold her, kiss her head, help burp her, and my favorite he kneels down by the chair she is in and stares at her and says "hi Brookie, Brookie hi.. Hi Brookie, Brookie HI!!"
*He loves to play with cars
*He loves Elmo, Thomas, Cars, and Toy Story
*His "B" or blanket is still his #1 best bud that cannot leave his side.
*When he wants to play he will come up to you and say "games?"
*He is so not eating lately (this is the frustrating part of mommyhood) But he will always eat anything fruit or vegetable. We have a serious vegetarian on our hands....well that is unless we offer pig in any of its forms (ham, bacon, sausage, pork chops) he loves his pig!! :) He hates chicken, especially when its shredded. It gives him the shudders and he scratches it off his toung, its quiet funny and irritating at the same time!
*I love saying prayers with him. He loves to list all his cousins, and all his aunts and uncles....ALL by name. Some prayers are really long! :) He loves to pray for the doggies and all his friends that come play too. He is getting really good about saying the prayer along with us, which makes me so proud. He gets it. Our favorite is when we say "amen". He says it with such vigor that we bust out laughing every night, it has never gotten old. :) One day i might have to catch it on camera just for posterity sake.
*He is still the perfect traveler. He never gets mad to get in the car. We dont even have to turn movies on for him. He is just content to play with a truck or some toy, and then usually falls asleep for the remainder of the trip. He is wonderful like that!! :)
*His 2 year old stats:
~weight: 27.5 lbs 44%tile
~height: 33.25 inches 21%tile
~head: 18 inches 23%tile
We absoultly adore our little boy. He is everything wondeful and excting to me. I love to love him, and he makes it so easy to do. He is a special little boy. He is very atuned to peoples needs. He hates it when his cousin gets put in time out...i always say he is Huestons best advocate. He will go try and help him out of time out, or if i am smarter/faster than him and get there before they make thier great escape, he will simply sit down with him while Hueston serves his time in time out, then they get up together and continue playing.
Kyler also while staying at my moms after i had Brooklyn was a sweet tender hearted boy and on a couple occastions was just what my mom needed to cheer her up. He is sensitive and loving, he loves to give hugs and kisses, he calls people by their name...he remembers peoples names, he is messy, crazy, a nut and a half, he is hyper, has a hard time concentrating at times, and is a hoot and a half. He like to make you smile and does whatever he deems necessary to get that smile out of you.
I love this boy.

My Babies
People keep asking if Brooklyn looks like Ky as a baby. I keep saying not at all....
Oh how i am wrong now that i look back at his newborn pictures! There are a few similarities. Their noses and mouth are very similar. Some big differences... like #1 the hair, the amount and color, and #2 their skin tone, but in Kylers defense he was super jaundice for a long time, so he looks quiet yellow in this picture.
What do you think??Saturday, May 21, 2011
Priceless
I always lay down with Ky to get him down for a nap, now even with a new baby I love that time, so I brought Brooklyn with us and was feeding her while we waited for him to fall asleep. They both went out like a light, and both ended up sleeping in almost the same position. I couldn't help myself i ran and grabbed the camera.

My Little Miss
I think i should probably post about her birth before I start forgetting. I am trying to wrap my head around the idea that she is a week old tomorrow. Where does time go? I am so awfully confused as to time right now. I dot know where it is going and it makes me sad it is going so fast. This "newborn" stage is just too short for time to fly so fast!
So here is the story:
On the 6th i went into the Dr for my checkup, he checked me and i was only at a 1 and hardly ready to have a baby. He told me to think happy baby thoughts and work on dilating more before my induction date (the12th). He always laughs when he says that, knowing we have no control over it, but always has to encourage it! :) At this same Dr. appointment he told me she was measuring big...like 8 or 8.5 lbs. Why did he have to tell me that!? I started getting really nervous i was going to have a huge baby...she could easily put a lb on in a weeks time...delivering a 9 lb baby...so not my idea of fun!
So to say the least i was not worried about overdoing anything. Saturday me and Brandon unloaded a pallet of cement stepping stones, i planted lots of flowers, moved some rocks, and then went for a 4 wheeler ride that night. Might i say i regretted it but not for any reason other thank my body was soooo sore after. No pregnancy related, just Marci being so out of shape related. But, i thought for sure that would have helped progress things. Monday the nurse called and said my Dr worried about me all weekend about my labor and didn't want it to be miserable, so they wanted me to come in Wednesday night to take a pill to start things slowly and then in the morning they would give the pitocin. This made me sad, i had plans. Good plans. Going into the hospital one day earlier didn't play very well into those plans. (FYI Wednesday was our 4th anniversary, we were hoping to get a nice dinner at least)
But, Wednesday came, i went into his office, he checked me, not much progress at all...GERRR all that hard work and a super bumpy ride did nothing. Bummer. They told me to call the hospital at 7:30 to make sure they had a room for me, even though i was scheduled to come in then. Side note, Brandon was SUPER swamped at work, so my mom had brought me and Ky up for my appointment in his office. Brandon was hurrying to make it, but wasn't going to be there till 7...so for mine and his anniversary, my mom and me went to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. :) Love spending time with her. Love her more than anything. Missed having my husband for my dinner date though.
So i called at 7:30 and they tell me that they are swamped and will not have a room till 9:30 and to call then to make sure. So MAD...i could have gone to dinner with my hubby! 9:30 rolls around, phone call, no room, no room till 11:30 or midnight, they will call me when they are ready. GERRRRRR! could have gone to a movie if we would have known it was going to be so late. Dumb good hospital and delivering so many babies! :) So, finally we left my uncles house about 10:30 hoping they would call soon and let us in. We go looking for some good ice cream to celebrate 4 wonderful years with...couldn't find anywhere great, so we went to McDonald's got a cone and ate it in the car. Love my husband. He is wonderful. We got done eating it around 11 drove to the hospital all the while hoping for a phone call...nope. So we talked in the car in the hospital parking lot until 11:40 or so, and finally the phone rang. Yea! We went right in, the got me admitted, and by 12:30 gave me the pill to help start labor.
It didn't do much, so to make a long story shorter, the nurse called the Dr told him it wasn't doing much, so they started me on the Pitocin at 4:30. 8:30 came and things were finally moving along. The Dr came in and said now is the time for an epidural cause the anesthesiologist was going in for 2 c-sections and would be tied up for the next 2 or so hours. I had planned on going all "natural" but again Dr shouldn't have told me i might be having a 9 lb baby, i totally wimped out. I took the epidural. 10:30 the nurse comes in checks me, a 3 now. She says the girl next door is ready to have her baby, she will be 1.5 hours or more helping with her. But no worries i am not going anywhere fast. So i fall asleep, and at 11 wake up to the most incredible need to push, and pushing because i couldn't help myself! :) My epidural had worn off, I really wanted to feel the whole process, and i was getting it. I started getting worried that this need to push was going to actually push the baby out and was more than just simple labor pains. Brandon finally convinced me to call the nurse. Another nurse comes in, i tell her i need to push, she said i was just a 3 an hour ago, but checked me anyway. Her face was priceless. She looks up and says, "oh we are having a baby, SOON, I'll go get the Dr!"
To shorten the whole process...i could feel everything and it was awesome. I loved it. 5 pushes and we had a beautiful little girl. They placed her on my chest to clean her off and i was in awe. Pure happiness, pure joy, and she was purely beautiful!
We had lots of visitors. I felt awesome. Really, i didn't feel like i had just had a baby in the least. It might be becuase Kylers delievery was my first a little more complicated and then i was still super medicated afterwards for a day because of my blood pressure and i felt yucky. Thats what i blame it on. If it gets easier with each pregnancy bring it on! :)
Now we are just home enjoying our precious little girl. She is called anything from Brooklyn, Brookie, Brookielyn, Little Miss, Missy, and Missy Moodle. We have loved our alone time with her for the past week, but couldn't be happier to have our crazy little man back. Its just not the same around here without him. He absolutely adores Brookie and wants to hold her all day and when she is sleeping he is so concerned no one is holding her.
This is a long post, sorry. I will stop now. But there will be pictures to come, millions and millions of adorable pictres to come in the future!! I can promise you that!!

| Really again, i love watching this man love on his daughter. |

Mom
Those 3 letters put together mean more to me than i could ever imagine. When I think of M.O.M. I really don't lump myself into that category for some reason. I know i am a mom, and i love being a mom, and i try my hardest to be the best mom out there, but i quiet honestly forget that i am a mom. The only reason i can come up with as to why someone who is 9 months pregnant, and has a almost 2 year old with her constantly could forget she is a mom? I think it is because when i think of MOM i think of this incredible woman:
She is MOM. She is everything MOM. She is my everything. She is my best friend. She is more than a MOM. She is bigger than a MOM. I know we all stake claims to having the "best" moms, and rightfully so. You should think you have the best mom ever. But, sorry, my mom takes the cake for being one of the most amazing women on this earth. I try to think of how to describe her incredible-ness, and really there are no words. She is my hero. She has been through more in her lifetime than i ever in a million years think i could handle and she still a happy, helpful, wonderful person. In her life she has dealt with more trials and tribulations than any one woman should have to deal with. Can i please paint a small portion of this woman's life to help me explain why she deserves to be one of the most amazing women alive....
**in no particular order, just as they came to my head:
*She grew up with 5 brothers, while they are all respectable men, and i think highly of every single one of them, anyone putting up with 5 brothers deserves a golden medal.
* She went through the trial of infertility. Not just that, but infertility in the "old days" i imagine that road was far more bumpy than the road i have traveled down
*She defied all odds and had Jake, 11 months later-- Luke, 19 months later---Chase, 16 months later---Marci, and then 3.5 years later Quinn.
*She raised all 5 kids much by herself, my dad was out of town a lot for work
*She not only raised 5 kids, but help run our family's farm. She did everything...baled hay, changed water, chased cows, etc. There is no limit to her farming skills.
* When she was only 37, i believe. Her husband got in a horrible car accident leaving him a quadriplegic. Then shortly after he was diagnosed with Leukemia.
*So now, she was taking care of us 5 kids all day, taking care of the farm, helping to remind us to take care of all the animals, and taking care of my dad all day (which i still have no idea all that entailed, but she did everything for him, and i know it was not easy.)
* While she is busily living this life, she served in the YW presidency, and I think the RS presidency as well. She always fulfilled her callings better than anyone i know. She is a go getter and doesn't do anything less than perfect. The handouts she made for YW put me to shame.
*At 41, she lost her dear husband.
*She never lost a beat. She was always happy. She never let us 5 kids down. She never stopped. She still farmed, she still had 5 kids, we still had cows, horses, and dogs. We still went on camping trips all summer long. We still went on a BIG vacation every year she planned perfectly. We traveled to Canada, Mexico, took a cruise, and that is just to mention a few.
*She sent 3 sons on full time missions.
*She has 3 college graduates, One with a Masters, and one working on becoming a Dr.
*She supports and encourages them daily.
*She kept a spotless house in addition to everything else she was already doing.
*We rarely, RARELY went out to eat. She made dinners for us all every night.
*She married an incredible man and moved away from all her family to Wayne Co and started all over.
*She has a million friends...and i might mean that quite literally! People flock to her. People love her.
*She has served a service mission in Kirkland, Ohio for 6 months
*She has had more than one calling in her wards in Wayne County since she moved there
*She drives the 3 hour drive to SLC to be with her kids, her brothers and sister, and to be with her dad without a second thought.
*Just lost her baby boy, which doesn't seem fair after all that she has already gone through. But, i know she will forage through this trial as well. She always does.
*She never stops giving.
*and i could never stop listing things about my mother. She is truly an inspiration in my life. I could go on and on, and the more i type the more things that keep coming. So i better stop or this post will be a mile long.
So, to sum my mom up she is my mother. She exemplifies what a mother is and should be. In church yesterday one of the speakers read this from The Family, A Proclamation to the World, and i though of my mom in an instant.
"Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to teach them to love and serve one another, observe the commandments of God, and be law-abiding citizens wherever they live. . . .By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed."
That is my mother. She is the perfect mother. She deserves a little recognition this Mother's Day. Love you mommy!
She is MOM. She is everything MOM. She is my everything. She is my best friend. She is more than a MOM. She is bigger than a MOM. I know we all stake claims to having the "best" moms, and rightfully so. You should think you have the best mom ever.
