Often this conversation happens at our house and the script is usually universal for both of us....
"where does that kid come from",
"don't know, must be from you, im not that funny or weird"
"Well neither am I!"
Followed by laughter on both accounts
Why do we say this? Seriously, you should come be a fly on our wall...you would get serious good entertainment from a almost 2 year old. Off the top of my head here are a few examples of his funniness. You might not find them as funny, but I am writing them down anyway!
* Church Sundays is a difficult time for us all. Ky is a super active little boy. We are FREQUENTLY told how entertaining he is to watch during sacrament meeting. He has his good days, he has normal days for a 21 month old, and then he has horrible days that make me desire inactivity in the church just to keep my sanity. :)
This Sunday he was particularly good. He was so super tired cause he refused his forced nap in the morning. So he just ate his snacks, and then layed on the floor and looked at books and scratched at the wall. At the very end he was loosing it though. He wanted to escape, and successfully did twice. We come back in after chasing him out into the foyer, and finish the closing song, he folded his arms to pray. Short prayer, thank you! and then.... At the top of his little cute voice with his arms flying in the air comes, " ALL DONE, ALL DONE, ALL DONE!!!!" Followed by a huge grin and squeals! We both about died laughing, and the people all sitting around us who heard him. Funny boy.
* We moved him to his big boy bed oh about a month or so ago. It has just been a twin mattress on the floor, I was too paranoid to put it on the frame. But, he has proved he can successfully get off tall beds, so this weekend while re-arranging his room we decided we would put it on the frame. WOW, that made it tall! Poor boy cannot get up on his bed without a stool. Mom still wants to take it down, but i might just be a super worrier, dad says he will be fine. Who knows, but now he has to have the stool used in the bathroom to get to the sink for daycare and him, to get on his bed. He thinks its AWESOME. He will find that stool and haul it to his room whenever he thinks he should be on his bed. Its made me chuckle a couple times cause he has such a proud look on his face like, "I have thought it through, and this is the plan, i am soooo smart!!"
Then this morning, I had moved the coffee table we use in the front room as a foot stool/Kylers stool to get on the couch. Poor toddler, he cant reach anything!! Anyway i moved it out of the way so i could vacuum. He immediately leaves the room and comes back with that dang cute, "Im so SMART and TRICKY" smile on his face, props the stool next to the couch and climbs on up. He laughs, looks at me and smiles a huge smile. Geez kid i love you!!
*Last night we put him down for bed at about 7:45. I decided at 9 to take a bath, thinking that was plenty of time for him to have fallen asleep. (his room has a door into the bathroom, so its noisy, we hate it) Anyway i start the tub, and am getting undressed and he opens the door with a book in his hands and says "Mommy, books". Mom says, "have you been reading books for over an hour!?!?" Kyler--all smiles. Darn it how do you get mad at a kid who just loves bookies!!?? I put him back in bed, and i guess he had finally had it, cause when i got out a half hour later, he was out cold on his bed.
*He often will just walk up to the toilet and pull up his shirt, stand there in front of the toilet for a second, then put his shirt back down and go about his playing. Makes me laugh every time!
* For the rest of the stories, i might have to combine movies.... Like his killer dance moves...they are priceless. I will post it soon. Its just harder to take videos during the day when i have 5 other kids here who want in on the movie making magic. :)
*There are lots more stories, i will add them later. and every time i say i do this...i usually do. So dont think i am just pulling your chain!! :)
